For it being a "cheap homeowner" saw, I really like my MS310; pulls a 28" well in our hardwoods. Ported, it hangs right with my stock MS440.

@@HayChaffandSawdust1 This poor thing has been through a lot. I bought it with a bad air leak and found someone had swapped on a cheap aftermarket 390 cylinder. I replaced the crank seals and it ran ok but not great. After hiding it at the back of the shelf for 6 months and trying to forget that I owned the dam thing, it now has some new rings and runs well. It's been a productive few weeks of getting the neglected saws going while waiting on parts for the 461. New rings in this 310 and put together a MS170 out of parts with a WT215 carb

I actually Don't consider the 310 a home owner saw. Even though they have most of the home owner parts. I know of a few guys who run 32 inch bars on these saws and used them for logging. I ended up with one of them so I fixed it up nice and gave it to my uncle for his birthday. He loves to farm and just bought almost 100 acres of woods to clear and I'm sure that 310 will do it all.

@@rc-daily I concur that a 310 is a fine saw; mine has cut MANY loads of wood and is even my go-to over my 440, I refer to it as a "home owner saw" due to the clamshell design, plastic case, bar stud being threaded into the plastic case, etc... I'm by no means dogging on the saw, but stating, that for a homeowner saw, they sure are good ones. Mine stays dressed in a 28" bar with full comp 3/8 chain. It does the work of a pro saw, but I still consider mine a homeowner grade.

@HayChaffandSawdust1 i agree with that! I have a 44 and 441 but I always grab my 361 or 036

I wish they had a better AV setup but apart from that they are cheap, heaps of parts are available and they work well enough for most jobs The oil pump on these are overachievers as well. Heaps of output for a saw of this size
