just got a 400c last friday with a 25 inch bar/chain , it's my first chainsaw ever . we got a wood boiler almost 3 months ago and i gotta learn to cut wood . i have a few VERY well seasoned folks to teach me . i'm about to order a pair of Clogger Zero PRO Light and Cool UL Chainsaw Chaps Calf Wrap ..... should i consider a different pair or maker ?

Ŕ u happy with the oiler, heard the 400 doesn't have the best one,rather weak in performance! ??? Please advise as I like buying one ,thanks for sharing it!
@JeffB19614 ай бұрын
@@gunterbecker8528 mine has a 25 inch bar and it does fine cutting through 36 inch tree trunk sections (cut down as deep as i can burying the blade then rolling with my cant to finish) . FWIU ...... the stock oiler is good up to the 25 inch bar and when folks go longer than that they start having problems . with my 25 when i rev it up over cardboard it slings oil on it ...... for what ever that may or not be worth ????

1k👏🏻Congrats 👊🏻 I’ve had my 400c for almost 2years now. I bought it for $868.00 out the door. That was before they got popular. It’s crazy to see how the price increased now over the demand. Awesome job fellas. Lotta good saws you were runnin. Aaron I agree 100% 400c👊🏻

Thanks Todd! I think now dealer cost is almost what you paid, crazy how things have went up and the demand for them. It’s almost like the hype went away on another stihl saw and now the 400 is the new go to, and rightfully so!

I always used to be a Husqvarna guy but I can not take to the 5 series saws, I mainly run a Husky 353 and Stihl MS462 now as the 462 has a really good weight to power balance. In the UK there is only about £100 money difference between the Stihl and Husqvarna saws so it can be pretty hard to choose.

I’ll always be a Husqvarna guy, but I sure do love my ms462.. thanks for watching!

Just came across your channel! Loving all the saw reviews. I run a 290 for firewood, but am eying up just the next class up. 400c maybe the way to go. Wondering about the husqvarna 372 as well...it's also on the lighter end ?

@@765Guys oh and you've got the ms462 right ? Or your buddy does? The 462 and 572 are very comparable saws it looks like? Would you pick one over the other besides anything then brand name ?

To me my halfwrap 462 seems much heavier than my 500i full wrap...not sure if its the wrap handle that changes it..but feels heavier gased up...for sure..but 462 is tank ..dropped mine out of bucket 60ft ..only wire broken things solid

@@randykeech3557 hopefully we get this comparison soon, but the 441 is definitely not going to ruin the 400. Might be a little better but not ruin it. The 462 can’t ruin a 400.

@@BobbySixguns i ran a 441 for a bit helping a farmer do some logging. Maybe i worded that bad haha. I think the 441 has better torque for bigger wood. Bit either way both great saws. I think a 400c would be right up my alley. I seldom cut anything bigger than 24",its just to hard to move around and load in a truck. Yes i can noodle them down to smaller sizes,but its just easier to avoid it unless its easy to het on a utility trailer

I like to see downed trees being used . I hate when small green trees are cut for firewood. I know it is harder to get enough trees for the big guys. I have been cutting since 1981 and the only live trees I have cut are ones that I was paid to cut. I have no trouble finding enough dead trees in the forests around me. I know this is not the case for everyone or people that have a big firewood business.
@765Guys Жыл бұрын
I agree with you, finding down trees and harvesting them is more work, but at least your putting them to use and there not just there to rot.
