That impressive MSA 300 looks great, which is to say it lacks the funky look of almost every other battery chainsaw. I wanted to get one but as they've been as rare as hen's teeth where I live I haven't yet, and now I think I'm waffling towards the Husky. The anti-vibration handle seems unnecessary and must be contributing to the saw's considerably heavier weight. Some have speculated it was put on there to help with government sales and equipment safety requirements. So despite the slightly awkward appearance of the Husky, which I think I'm getting used to, I'm warming to it for not including that feature and being much lighter. Compared to Stihl's also nice MSA 220, the Husky is more expensive but also clearly built to more of a pro standard, making use of metal in the guard and bar mating surface, rather than the plastic used in the 220.

I have both the MSA 300 and the 220C, very much they are not comparable. I am happy with 220C but the MSA 300 is much faster and powerful the downside on the MSA300 is the battery time and sure is heavier.

I have the Stihl MSA300 and so far may say I am happy, however the AP500S battery failed short 11 cuts on 40cm diameter oak and my AP500S battery is out of charge. Feel kind a Mustang GT with gas tank in the reserve.

Husqvarna just came out with the new "power axe" chainsaw I think it's called a 350i maybe give that a go against the stihl.

That's their new "consumer grade" battery saw. It's unlikely to compare favorably to the "pro grade" MSA 300 or the 540i XP. I expect it would be comparable to the Stihl MSA 220 or 200.

I know very, very little about eletronics and I have a question. I have 1 AP200, 1 AP300, 3 AP300S and 4 AP500S batteries for the saws 161T, 220C, MSA300 and the Trimmer 135. My question is, if in my truck I have a battery with 60 AH capacity how manny times can I recharge one of my AP500S batteries using a power converter in this case from 12V to 220V for using the Stihl battery charger 500 and with out leaving the trucks battery death? I mean recharging with truck engine not running. Thank you.

@@evoredline I have try charging one AP500S using a power converter and connecting the AL500 charger to it, but when the battery was about 50% charged the alarm went on in the converter meaning the battery power was going low. I did this in two vehicles and the same happens in both. When the alarm went on I stop, disconnect everything and yes both veicles have no problem to start up but I only have the AP500S 50% charged-

@@sirvozelo1 maybe try one of the battery/solar generators. Most have a power gauge and are super convenient to use

WIth 400 Wp solar panel / PERC, TOPcon, IBC - etc / you can charge AP500S with DC-DC MPPT set for 36 V for around 50 - 70 minutes. But you have to controll temperature of NMC cells in AP500S batt.

@@PavolFilek Yes but out in the middle of the woods with be difficult to deal with solar panel's. With jeep battery I have try and it not work. I have try on my jeep and on one my friend pick up, with out the engines running in both vehicles I only be able to charge about 50% of one AP500S battery before the alarm go on in the power converter. The battery system is very nice but for professional use still light years away, for a normal working day in the forest I with need a truck load of batteries.

Thanks for the vid. it was enjoyable to watch. However, I disagree that the Husky & Stihl are the, "biggest, baddest battery chainsaws on the market". Both Husky & Stihl engineers opted for too much chain speed and not enough torque in their cordless saws. If you dig the 'dogs' in and lean on both those saws they stall easily. The current best overall cordless electric chainsaws are the Dewalt 20" 60V and the Greenworks Commercial 20" 82V. Both of those saws will crush the Husky & Stihl in cutting test when the saws are actually used like saws are used in real life. And, both the Husky & Stihl saws with battery & charger cost more than 2X the price of the Dewalt & Greenworks with battery & charger. There is value added in the Husky & Stihl in overall build quality and parts availability but that is negligible for a homeowner or small property owner. A GREAT video would be head-to-head matchup between 18" & 20" Stihl, Husky, Dewalt, Greenworks, and Echo! Comparisons of both letting the saws fall though the wood, and also leaning on the saws! Thanks again for the vids! I love the cordless saws!

I have the Stihl MSA300 for over a year and have use it quite heavy so far very much not have any problem, all I can say is even the top Stihl battery the AP500S fail very short for this saw.

I agree 100% I tested the Husqvarna poweraxe 350i against 2 greenworks 82v saws and I was able to cut a 12" piece of green oak twice as fast with the 82CS34

You should've also tested the Makita 40v chainsaw with the 8Ah battery.

I not know exactly what the model's are but my brother have 2 Makitas comparable with mines 161T and MSA 220C, we try cutting at same time one brand against the other we both prefer the Stihl. However in my brother case the Makita is preferable because he is a construction contractor and he use the same batteries in other tools, other than this he with have went with Stihl.
