Introducing the STIHL RMA 239 C, a lightweight cordless mower that’s easy to manoeuvre and is packed with features for maximum power and comfort. This battery powered lawn mower is a great choice for medium areas of lawn, up to around 400 square metres or about the size of one and a half tennis courts. It’s powered by a 36V Lithium-Ion battery, so you can move freely around the garden without any cables in your way.
We recommend using the AK 20 battery with the STIHL RMA 239 cordless lawn mower. What’s more, this same battery can be used in all the other tools in the STIHL AK System range. Simply swap the STIHL AK battery into the other tools and you can work your way around the garden doing many different tasks.

The STIHL RMA 239 C cordless mower boasts some smart features, including the mono-comfort handlebar. This makes accessing and emptying the grass box simpler and easier compared to a conventional lawn mower as the handlebar folds away neatly for space saving storage in your shed or garage. You can adjust the height of the handlebar without tools too and the height of the mowing deck is easily adjusted, using this lever.
Another key feature of the RMA 239 C battery powered lawn mower is that the flow-optimised blade makes the grass stand upright ready to be cut and then the airflow blows the cuttings into the grass catcher box, which holds up to 40 litres of grass.
This cordless lawn mower comes with a grass catcher box that has vents on its side that face downwards. This means you won’t get covered in dirt and dust when mowing. And it’s easy to spot when the box is getting full on the RMA 239 cordless mower too, thanks to the grass level indicator. When the indicator is down, it means the box is full - so you then know to empty the lawnmower. Emptying it is a breeze too, as the box can be opened, just like a clam-shell.
The STIHL RMA 239 C mower can be converted into a mulch mower with a mulching accessory kit. This is a great way of achieving a lush lawn without having to use lawn fertiliser with the added bonus of not having to get rid of your grass cuttings.
For an average sized lawn, you should only need one fully charged battery to get the job done. It’s simple to keep an eye on how much battery charge you have with these four LEDs. Once the charge has run down, simply pop the battery on the charger and it will be up to 80% capacity in around an hour and a half, and 100% after a further hour.
Don’t forget to check for wildlife in your working area before you start mowing though.

I’ve had this model for a few years & it has some great features as described. The only improvement I suggest is the height adjustment mechanism that tends to jump out of position on uneven lawns & results in the deck lowering & scalping the grass. If this could be improved it would be the perfect mower!
