This is the unit we have used all day every day for 3 years now on 100+ lawns. It's a great unit. I will never go back to the 90.

Go with their KombiSystem and grab the 131R. You'll never go back to the 110 or (now) 111R. It kicks more ass than Jet Li!

The stihl fc 110 lawn Edger is the fourth stihl four mix model to carry the number 110. The other three models are the stihl fs 110 bike handle Grass trimmer and brush cutter, the stihl km 110 r kombi system and the stihl fs 110 r loop handle Grass trimmer

I had a model older than this one that I love. My sister has difficulty with tools that are too heavy and she actually loved mine and found it easy to use kzbin.infoUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG . This is a newer model but was even lighter which she really appreciates. She enjoys it and I no longer have to go to her house to trim as she can handle it fine. Haven't used it enough to comment on the battery life but lithium batteries last longer than the old style. Being cordless makes it easy to trim the far edges of the property. The entire yard can be trimmed with one charged battery.

Do you ever have a problem going back and the runner mud flap gets nicked or torn by hitting the blade ?

It's 50/1 not 40/1, Stihl literally says all of their equipment is 50/1

For the price, it's hard to justify. Yes I know Stihl is head and shoulders above practically anything else out on the market, but $500 is some serious cash for an edger. I do the exact same technique with my $50 craftsman edger attachment on my Toro power head, back and for several times until the edge is set. The sacrificial head piece is a nice idea. You might have included putting on a new blade in the video. Once I figured out the proper technique, changing the blade is about a 2 minute process. I also use a Stihl trimmer and just switch the head out when I use up the line, much faster than reloading when out and about.

Great video...I was gonna invest in a plug in. I’m glad I saw this. Question have you had an experience using it on curved concrete walkways & if so...how did it perform ?
@WorkshopAddict4 жыл бұрын
My whole drive way is one curve now and it works fine. It takes a bit more out of the ground because of the curve by works well.

@lifeisgood0707 жыл бұрын
50:1 is a USA EPA rule. Personally wouldn't use it. Most small equipment functions better off 40:1 especially during the break-in period where you're not supposed to do full throttle for the first couple tanks. But to each his own.

Not sure why he does that style... Its possible to do a steady normal walking pace especially if you use oregon gator edger blades - then your 3 times the speed of a weed eater on slightly overgrown edges.
