@@STIHLTIMBERSPORTS No it doesn't. I have been watching the old videos by random KZbin recommendation (2017 and thereabout), and then decided to try find out if Matt Coger is still on fire, or that Rookie called Sven from Sweden. This is way too cheesy. Stick to the original format of going straight to the event. Chop-chop!

I was part of the Timbersports, or Loggersports, team in college. Some provinces in Canada have college teams that train throughout the semester and meet up for competition 4 times per year - one comp. in Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Quebec. It was an epic experience that I wish more schools tried to organize. I tell yah, it takes a determined and unique bunch of people to voluntarily show up for practice every night during the winter. Chopping, sawing, running, throwing axes and logs... I'll always love that rag-tag group of axemen and axewomen. Respect to these guys for being such pros.

That's why the hot saw is also called "the maker or breaker". How would you assign the points?
@yourmother6382 жыл бұрын
@@STIHLTIMBERSPORTS more fairly across all events. An event that is less about skill and more about the moment shouldn't break a guy so.much compared to other events
@jimihenrik112 жыл бұрын
I agree. I don't really see the hot saw as more important than the other events. The Simplest solution would be to have equal points over all events. I know this creates dramatic tension in the end of the events, but I think it is less fair and less entertaining.

3:25 "RNK"; should be "RANK". This abbreviated spelling doesn't work as a stylistic choice here, as none of the other columns are abbreviated in any way. This misspelling was repeated multiple times throughout the video. Other occurences of this spelling error will not be timestamped. 10:25 "JR"; should be "JR.". This misspelling was repeated multiple times throughout the video, but gladly not in every single scoreboard. @STIHLTIMBERSPORTS3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! We understand your arguments and can reassure you. We use purposely grown industrial wood for the competitions. The trees are fast growing poplar hybrids that are 100% sustainable. The remaining wood is gathered and recycled after all competitions
@corymiller98543 жыл бұрын
@@STIHLTIMBERSPORTS Ty for your reply. The use of axes and chainsaws are traditional and is lovely to watch. The style which we get these logs/trees matter for the longevity of the resource. Clear cut styles are more lazy then they are effective. Sending the lumberjacks out to the forest for competition is a better look:] Harvesting these trees are the harder challenge anyways and would be proof that you are maintaining sustainable practices. A hundred year old tree is not something that is obtainable for any man in there lifetime since we die before that. If you kill the younger trees getting to the 100 year old ones. Then this is moving backwards in time and makes it even harder to sustain inventory.

Whoever edited this together could really learn from how strongman highlights are put together. Instead of showing every single competitor, just show the most significant performances for each event. Seeing the same thing 6 times gets boring fast, and the interview after every single one is also incredibly unnecessary.
@YungPrince2k163 жыл бұрын
Just to add to your comment, strongmen competitions upload something exactly like this, the full event. They also upload what Devin is talking about which would be the competition “recap” which is a shorter usually 40min video of the best performances in each event. Cool to see somebody else who enjoys watching strongman!
