I love Eric, by far my favourite character. I recently read that Jimmy Martin [who portrays him] has been named in the King's Honours. He was awarded The British Empire Medal on the 2nd of November, at the age of 93. It was reported he remarked "I've that many wrinkles on ma foreheid noo I can screw my hat on". HA HA!

Still game season 5 last episode is called The Party which is the Hogmanay special to end the season. There is an episode called Hootenanny but that's actually the end of season 6 after the Christmas special Plum Number. There was only a Christmas special in seasons 4 and 6 and two Hogmanay specials in season 5 and 6 👍

@Nordboy27 yeh that what they were for but the episode in season 6 was called Hootenanny and in season 5 The Party. Netflix in UK doesn't show the party at end of season 5 and has mistakenly placed Hootenanny in place of it (a season too early) and never corrected it 👍

Some great episodes in this series, but also one of the weakest in Hard Nuts. My least favourite episode from the classic period. Loving the videos BTW.

Hard Nuts is one of my personal favourite episodes. Weirdly enough, I am not a fan whenever grounded shows do outlandish stories, but that episode is just fun all around, and Jack and Victor trying to act hard just tickles me. I would argue that Cold Turkey is the worst episode of the original run. A very barebones episode, where Jack and Victor are total wankers, and there aren't any moments that really stick out to me in terms of halirity. I wouldn't say it is a bad episode or anything, but it is probably the only episode in the original run that I feel I won't be missing anything worthwhile if I skipped it. Plumb Number was a much better Christmas special imo.

Hard Nuts was great for what it was; a jab at the state of televesion at that point in time. It takes the piss out of all the absolute shite, and generally fake, "reality TV" that was seeing ridiculous amounts of airtime back then. Don't think I saw anyone criticising the episode until some twat with a reaction channel said he didn't like it, either. Nowhere near close to being my favourite, but there's worse.

To be honest, by the time this series was aired most people were fed up wi the whole thing. People have selective memory wi 'Still Game'. I don't. I believe the phrase we were all using by this point was ; "it's gettin' pish!".
