Thanks! It's a fantastic solo to play, I never get tired of playing through it :) Very difficult as well, the best advice I can give is that you try to make it your own and don't over-analyze the minute details. In my opinion and experience that is what most often leads to things sounding stiff and forced. This one requires being played from the heart with as much feel and emotion you can pour into it - as you mention yourself. Good luck!!

Yes, it's the latest version of the "Slash" Les Paul. Really like this guitar, very much recommend it. If you're a Gary Moore fan Gibson also release a similar GM signature model - looks like it's almost exactly the same as this one though, just with a slightly different color..

Thanks! It's the "new" Slash Les Paul Standard model - I believe there was another "AFD" model previously, more of a limited run. Not quite 12kg, but heavy! :) Sounds and plays great though!

Hi, it's just the LP into a Soldano SLO tube head (30W version) with 4x12 V30 speaker cab. A little bit of short delay (slap-back almost) plus a fair amount of hall reverb added in the DAW. Nothing else ;)

@@DanWavey Hi, I do use my pinky - quite a lot actually - but not much in this particular style of music. I just don't see any licks in this particular solo where it would benefit me (but as a constant student of the instrument, please let me know where exactly you feel it would be a better choice of fingering??) Gary also primarily played this style with 3 fingers. Personally I use the pinky in more "shreddy" stuff... Metallica solos have lots of runs and 2-string arpeggios where it's useful... then I use it for 4 finger tapping, and the "Lukather bend" where you fret a note on an already bent string (think Rosanna). You can also check out my Deep Purple videos on this channel - for example my cover of the "Burn" solo which features a lot of "pinky action" in the last half or so. Generally speaking... bendy/bluesy stuff I don't use it much, shreddy stuff I do. Take care...
