I know people aways talk about the Pulse performance in 94. I saw them on that tour and yes that was the greatest performance of song, until this one in Pompeii. His age, the grittier tone, this is the definitive version of this song for me

David Gilmour did a small tour in 2016 and I was fortunate to see it in Chicago. It was amazing. We can only hope he tours again at some point. He's 76 years old yet he also was working on a new album as of one or two years ago. Time will tell! Also, if you haven't reacted to it yet, I suggest checking out Pink Floyd's Pulse tour from 1994 and the song 'Sorrow'. David has another amazing guitar solo in that one.
