You know, I remember Jax being an agent of chaos in episode 1, but he was a straight up menace in this episode. Not surpriseing to be fair. And according to Gooseworx, he only gets worse. The crazy thing, though, Twitter actually got mad; Jax fans as well. Like...Jax is a dick and acts like it, what did they expect? Episode one made that clear. Twitter once again proving media literacy is dead.

in episode 1 jax was a different kind of dick, he was coy about his selfishness and was funny, and even interacted positively with the others, hinting that underneath multiple layers of selfishness and callousness he genuinely cared about the other humans. this episode he just... was there, and seemed to hate having to talk to anyone, and generally not caring about anything unless he could make it violent. i genuinely consider jax in episode 1 and jax in episode 2, two distinct characters that are the same in name and appearance only. it's kind of disappointing they went this direction after how likeable he was despite his glaring flaws in episode 1.

@@ragequazar nope; Gooseworx, the creator, has confirmed on Twitter that this was how Jax was always supposed to be. She deliberately made him to be as rotten and insufferable as possible. Also, no, he was just as bad in episode 1. He pushed Ganges out 8f his way after he already invited her through first, made fun of everyone, said not a single nice thing, refused to help Zooble, pushed Kinger and Gangle down a hole he had no idea would lead, and left Regatta and Pomni to die at the first sign of trouble. He also admitted to breaking into everyone's rooms (except for Pomini, but she did just get there). He never showed any signs of good will. If anything, we got something like that in episode two when Zooble mentioned Kaufmo's funeral and for a split second he broke character and looked down, before immediately going back to being grumpy. The only reason he seemed better in episode one was because there were no NPC's to torment and Gangle was in a different group than him most of the time.

Jax is one of my favorite characters, most likely because he's like those players who are unapologetically mean and genocidal because they know their actions have no consequences or don't matter. People seem to forget that these guys are in a digital world, the only thing that can hurt them is abstraction so anything that would be "Harmful" in the real world doesn't apply here. He's like the GTA online players who just cause chaos.

I feel like Jax changed from "being a menace, but funny, understandable, and not a total jackass" to "I'm just mean for no reason and have no desire for interpersonal connections", and maybe it will have a reason in the future, but so far, not a fan of that to be honest
