Another great review G'.... always find VISAGE captivating ... musically and visually!, ... although at school I was into my JAM/SPECIALS I'd always pay attention to VISAGE seeing as they were a bit special and I had New-Romantic matey's who were always 'banging on about Steve Strange being a 'work of art', lol,.....I do have a favourite of theirs ..NIGHT TRAIN , I would love to see you review that classic!... This TV performance features the very beautiful and charismatic dancer Perri Lister unconvincingly miming the French parts (actually sung by Rusty Egan’s Belgian girlfriend) Perri was Billy Idol’s girlfriend throughout the 80s and she sings the repeated French phrase “Les yeux sans visage” (Eyes Without A Face) on Idol’s classic 1984 hit ‘Fade to Grey’ sounded incredible but the Visage song I enjoy the most is ‘Mind of a Toy’ with its wonderfully creepy video (again directed by Godley and Creme)

Great to see you G.P. I love Steve Strange, he twice let me into to "Blitz" in Covent Garden. I wore a grey double breasted suit and matching fedora hat, a white brooch, and heavy on the pan stick and black eyeliner. Hey, it was the early hedonistic eighties and almost anything went. They really were brilliant nights out, when everything seemed possible. Merry Christmas to you and all of your subscribers who after these years now, feel like family to me 🧡

Yes "Blitz" was an incredible place. Rusty Egan DJ'd and turned the standing/dancing venue into a magically happy sweaty disco of electronic and hypnotic rhythms. I really wouldn't have missed it for the world. Thankyou Gayle for your reply and your work x 🧡

Thanks, I enjoyed your reaction and I share your feeling about this song! Its definitely one of my favourite songs of all time! Steve Strange was a real character, unfortunately no longer with us. Midge is still going strong and touring! Would've loved to been around at time, to be at the Blitz club!

I never stop to play Fade to Grey. It is always mysterious.. I seem to walk in a windy desert, dark and gold when I listen to. Big sense of solitude. The video by Godley and Cream offers meanings, too. The make up is such a will of hiding, and the mask of the nun is pureness. Or the woman snake who kill the man who only fades to grey. Instead I dont like the live perfomances in playback for the television. They're so boring to me.
