I hated the abrupt end of the show with all the unresolved moments. One of the reasons was because I think the director had passed away and so alot of these plots got scrapped or finished as quick as possible. With all those flaws, 0083 is still one of my favorite UC gundam shows of all time.

Have to adore how the animation simulates the sound and look of old CRT(cathode ray tube) monitors as his screen comes online. It has a nostalgic Fallout style pip boy vibe to it. Weird yet warming to see the ancient interface in the "futurism" of Gundam technology. I like how tgat flows wity the also weird 1980's type flow of mannerism in all the observing characters(that are way too closely clumped together like they are in some shallow stereotype of a military industrial complex).

The animation is top notch. Back in the day, you can only find animes like 0083 in video stores. OVA stands for original video animation, this was direct-to-video instead of aired on tv. Home video was huge back then and some animes even started out as OVAs. The only issue is you need to wait, sometime months, years even for the next episode so be patient.

Its not really worth thinking about, but can you imagine how expensive it must be just one of these gundams to lift off? All the fuel used, the maintenance to make sure all the gears and actuators are running smoothly, the power needed to launch them, the ammo and/or energy cells its needs to be loaded out with to effectively fight or defend itself, the cost seems like it would be astronomical. Even for a basic mobile suit.

It definitely would be expensive! But damn the realistic designs of Gundam 0083 made me dream of the one day where things like this may exist. It’s so amazing. That was the beauty of this series was the realism in the mechanical designs of these units. They even went into detail with the tactical data computers that are linked between friendly suits like the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. This series was way ahead of its time.
