There's no "mutated Rennick" or "crying Trots". None of that. Just straight up their real name. To me, that makes it even more touching and heartbreaking. Although Caz and the rest know that those who have turned aren't the same anymore, they still see those creatures as their old colleges. On top of that, it makes the og creature, the weird tendon thing, to be more mysterious. It doesn't have a name, we don't what exactly it was, how it exactly infected people, none of that. I have this theory that the drill malfunction, since it happened while Raffs was down in the diving bell, it attracted something from way below in the very deep sea and it somehow got into the diving bell, infecting Raffs, hence to why he was shaking the bell and screaming so violently. After killing raffs (since we see his body at the end all ripped up in the bell), the thing escaped to the bottom of the Rig to stabilize itself and spread all throughout the rig. Rennick didn't know sh*t about it because his office is so high up and everyone was too scared to tell him, afraid of not being believed, that the mutation eventually spread all over the rig and slowly took it over.
@covenant_mog052 ай бұрын
the explosion probably compromised the diving bell and the substance got in. The drill pierced "something" (like an empty cavity in the soil that contained compressed gasses and other things hence the explosion in the earlier scene) that either contained a creature creating the substance or it was a substance itself in general. There's a scene Finlay tells Caz, that Gibbo got the oil like substance on his skin and suddenly started attacking her. All it took was skin contact it seems.

Bruh surviving isn't always about fighting back, in some scenario especially when facing eldritch horror like this, the only thing you can do to survive is run and hide. The protagonist is just an electrician who works on an oil rig in the 60s or 70s, and you get to feel the horror of encountering some unknown monstrosity in the middle of the ocean while trying to survive. In other survival horror video games where you have access to some weapons especially guns that can kill the monsters, it could take away the horror element way quicker and it will be more like an action game in the end.

The whipping sounds of the tendrils is... Oddly satisfying to me.

The sound disgn in still wakes the deep is awesome but the disgn is really bad in my opinion you cant compare this to the thing, execpt maybe for the tentacles. I watch the thing almost every year the thing is far more creepy, there's jaws,blood, head poping into a massive jaw, chest like jaws, the scream of the thing is beyond darkness and the dread of not knowing who's infected + if it touches you one time you are gone. No man you can't compare the thing to that massive bloby body fat screaming in agony it's ridiculous xD

It's true that every creature based on Carpenter's Thing is practiccaly inferior, were're talking about the most dangerous living being in fiction which potential was only showed in dogs and humans. A riddle: what was the principle reason the Thing was defeated?
@IntooleranceRieg3 ай бұрын
@@manugames92 I suppose because you need the movie to end, but in fact, if the thing takes all the memories from his host, and is able to build a spaceship out of scraps from the camp... I bet he wasnt defeated. A realistic game on the thing would be hard to finish. Fun fact : Rob Bottin wikipedia page : "From there, Bottin's reputation grew when he again worked with Carpenter on The Thing. Bottin worked on The Thing seven days a week (including late nights) for a year and five weeks straight, producing every creature effect (with the exception of the transformed dog, which was partially done by Stan Winston).[9] According to the making of documentary on the DVD, Bottin's schedule was so punishing, and his attention to detail so precise, that after filming finished, he was hospitalised with exhaustion and pneumonia."

@@IntooleranceRieg The main reason of it defeat was crashing in the lifeless antarctica, almost every other place would won and be The Life Itself, although an invasion doesn't seem to what was looking it.
