Still Wakes The Deep has RUINED horror games FOREVER (for me)

Still Wakes The Deep is one of my favorite horror games of recent memory, so here is my attempt at reviewing...in my own ramble style lol.

When I saw the quality of the review I was expecting you to have at least several thousand subscribers... was not prepared for 400! Horror generally isn't my thing, so I'm not sure how the algorithm led me to you, but I'm glad it did! I might even dip my toe into horror games to check this one out

In the last months I had tended to be very slow when it comes to playing and finish games (even the ones that last 7-8 hours), a lot of the games I played didn't engage me that much, but this game just captured me from the first moment. The atmosphere is incredible, I was feeling like being there with Caz, feeling his fears, his rage for everything not working at all. Everything we were doing was seeming to be unuseful. This game is worth every dollar and even more, and I recommend everyone to give it a try even if you might not like horror games or walking simulators. Great vid man!

KZbin's new algorithm sometimes sends me the most random ass videos with under 100 views that I have no idea why (Though in this case I do like horror games), but your review is extremely high quality for a channel of this size and does the game justice. @@WHIKKEDD Don't take this as advice cause I'm no KZbinr, but have you thought about doing similar overview type videos on (Mascot) horror games? Your channel definitely has a large variety of games/topics which imo is great, but most little channels find success from 1 big thing that gets enough traction and they roll with it, which is why I mention (mascot) horror. With Indigo park having just released there's a big craze going around it, with Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 not long before it, and of course FNAF is still as big as ever with its movie that just came out and a bunch of different games about to release. I can see not wanting to jump on bandwagons or its not something you're interested in (First and foremost you should make videos that you wanna make) but its something to consider I'd say. Anyway GL dude

Just finished this. LOVED IT. Such wonderful voice acting. Such wonderful writing. Dripping with 1970’s atmosphere. It was a great experience. 👍

A big problem is that the game is just a straight corridor. There is no exploring, every way is already given and of course there is the guy with the yellow paint. The character is nice but that is just it. Too many quick time events, too. More annoying than engaging.

totally fair. Personally I don't mind the linear nature because to me, I was just gripped by the story and the overall design of the rig. BUT I can def see that side of it to. it's definitely not for everyone and that's totally ok!

Honestly, the yellow paint isnt a problem in this game because it isn't out of place. All the yellow bits are part of the environment, it's not just there randomly. Actual oil rigs and industrial environments have bright yellow paint to show where it is safe to walk, or what is meant to be climbed on so that you don't break anything, get injured or die. It isn't just there randomly like it is in, say, Horizon Zero Dawn, it's actually functional within the environment beyond gameplay and isn't out of place within the setting.

*IT BROKE ME!* *IT RUINED MUH HORROR GAMES!* What game? You're sure you've played an actual horror title, yet alone a survival horror before? What are the rules? Where is the challenge? Where are the ACTUAL S/H mechanics? Level design, challenge and enemies are absolutely absent from this walking simulator. A 40 quid 5-6 hr walking experience, with QTEs. Even Amnesia TDD has actual gameplay mechanics and functional level design. Imagine comparing this trash to actual functioning videogames.

damn why are you so mad at someone else's opinion xD. If you actually watched the video, I said what I enjoyed about it so much. I connected with the story and didn't mind that there wasn't much gameplay, I even said I can see why its called a walking simulator. everyone's entitled to have an opinion, sorry yours doesn't match mine. just because you don't appreciate the game does not mean you have to right to trash on those that do :)
