STILL WAKES THE DEEP | Voice Cast Reveal | Story Minidoc

Our return to the Narrative Horror genre is now imminent - The Chinese Room's next title STILL WAKES THE DEEP is set for release on PC & consoles on June 18, 2024.
Leading the Voice cast of our game as the main character is Alec Newman as Cameron "Caz" McLeary, an accomplished Glaswegian actor with a long history of video game performances. Cyberpunk 2077 fans may recognise him as the voice behind Adam Smasher in both the game and anime.
"The thing was so well written, and so well-conceived, that I don't recall having very long conversations about what Caz should sound like," says Newman in the mini documentary, discussing what struck him about Still Wakes the Deep. "With this, you can feel the writing, you can feel the characters."
Also joining the cast is Neve McIntosh as Suze, Caz's wife, who can be heard in the Still Wakes the Deep release date trailer. You can find the full cast list below:

Alec Newman deserves at least a Nomination at the GOTY Awards for his performance as Caz. I recognize him from alot of games specifically Witcher 3 Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty.

When I got to Innes. He was my favorite. And once I saw him again on the messed up version of the rig with mangled Muir. I wanted to make sure he joined me on the ride away with Pilot Archie and Rendrick. But when he got dragged away. I screamed. I actually screamed in pain. It was on my video too.

I just had this game pop up in my recommended on Steam. I watched the trailer and heard the main character speak and immediately thought to myself "damn that sounds like a LEGIT scottish accent for once." I really respect and admire that decision, it's EXTREMELY refreshing. I'll definitely be grabbing this game very soon!

A quite unbelievable experience playing through this. The writing is easily the best I’ve experienced within a video game - the Scottish dialogue is the most outrageously authentic I’ve seen in media never mind in gaming.

I really liked SWTD. Great writing, setting, atmosphere, acting, lighting. Good scary, i.e. not too scary for me. Loved getting more closely aquainted with the Scottish accent and dialect. The characters felt authentic. Great job The Chinese Room.

I really wanted to enjoy this as the atmosphere is amazing but the atmosphere for me is spoilt when the yellow paint strikes again marking out the pathway.... come on developers give us players some credit for working out a game without all the hand holding please.

the point where i really noticed the voice acting was roys death, the emotion was so strong during that scene
