Thanks Joe it means a lot to me to hear this. I have just started on which I hope will be a series of videos based on fishing Spring. I may be taken on more than I can handle at the moment, as I have a lot of private life stuff I have to deal with. But I am going to try. Really nice to hear from you. Take care Joe. Shaun.

Thank you Jonathan. Oh got to say that you have one of Justin's favourite sayings. Happy Days. He says it all the time. Take care mate. Shaun.

Catching fish is not as difficult as catching Justin. But the fishing was made a bit easier due to the stocking they do there. Its a great water and well worth a trip of four hours each way. Thanks for the comment Martin. Shaun.

@@Rwils999 Those early ones are something else. I really did not have a clue about how to. Fishing was never a problem. But this channel was never intended. It just snow balled. And then there are people like your self that put time aside to watch and comment. I can not let you down. so we move on. And I will continue to learn photography and computers. Mind that part is slow for me. I would love to do more, but at the moment this is my limit. I spend so long putting this stuff together. I did think of doing more simple stuff, which I have seen on KZbin. But to be honest this is where I would rather be.

Brilliant and informative video as ever Shaun, chuffed you landed the big fish. Was thinking of a fishing trip this year in wales this place looks ideal as it’s halfway(ish) between Scotland and where my mate lives in plymouth
@shaunfishes10110 ай бұрын
The boys and myself love our annual trip to garnffrwd. We have booked this March for a week. Its as much about the banter as the fishing. I hope you and your mate from plymouth can do this, where ever it is. Don't expect it to happen. Just sort the dates and do it. The boys and myself started out doing a few days. But time goes so fast. So its always a week now. If it turns out to be Ellerdine you wont be disappointed. But check when they are open for fishing, as they close for a period in summer. And who knows you could be landing a corker. Take care Stuart mate and thanks. Shaun.

@@JonFisher-ql6xe Don't get the opportunity much. Big and dark. Did watch a video a bit ago on Lol's fishing Adventures. That was successful on the day. A black snake on top. Check it out, if you already have not. For a lot of the time it really is about being in the right place at the right time. When Justin and I fished this water they have every thing in there. Justin hit about every thing on his small lure or sort of cormorant thing. Me all I had was browns and rainbows. The patterns were much the same. It will happen one day mate. Keep at it. Shaun.

Be good just to see you on the water again. Last time up there I did bring my Salmon net, which made Justin's fish look small. I was out of sorts on this day, and forgot quite a few things. @shaunfishes10110 ай бұрын
We will at some point. But not sure when. To be honest I don't do much tying videos as you may already know. I have not got a great camera for this, plus my knowledge on cameras is almost 0. But I will do my best to sort something in the near future. Thanks for the comment. Take care. Shaun.
@sammellor60510 ай бұрын
Hi Shaun, I’ve tried my best to tie the Ellerdine mongral , but I had to use yellow Fritz and olive bead . I managed to work out what I thought your pattern was. It took me a while to find the barred marabou. I will give it a workout at Ellerdine next time I go, hopefully in the next few weeks. All the best to you and the boys. I will let you know how I go on ,hopefully have a few fish to mention.
@shaunfishes10110 ай бұрын
Honestly I don't think the colour is an issue. I am not totally convinced when in darker waters. Bulk and water displacement is the main thing here. A few things I do with the Ellerdine. One turn the bead the opposite way round. Make sure the hook eye does not slip inside. Two, when tying in the last of marabou, I don't cut off the waist at the head or bead. I trim it to about 3/16 or a bit more. Fold it back and whip finish in front. Doing these two things will create more water movement. Good look mate. Catch up soon. Shaun.

Hi Shaun, Snowbee seem to have discontinued their braided leaders. Have you come across this and have you found any alternatives. All the ones I can find are a tad too long, and not braided. I’ll be interested in your thoughts on future coloured waters as I regularly fish at Ellerdine. Cheers.
@shaunfishes10110 ай бұрын
I have had a quick look around. Putting in furled leaders in the search can help. Roman mosser are quite good. I have a few of them. Can't remember how long they are. But its the intermediate we need most. I think the down side to anybody supplying. Is that they last so long. I had no idea that you fished Ellerdine. Boy are you lucky. Its a great water. Could not believe how busy this place can get. Justin and myself have already started on patterns for coloured waters. There are a few things we have considered. But its going to take a long time to come up with anything. And that's if we do. Thanks for the comment Michael. Take care mate. Shaun.
