If you're looking for a Day Ticket on the middle area of the River Severn - The Brewery Inn section at Coalport is an excellent choice.
If you've enjoyed the video and want to help support me with creating future videos - You can Buy Me a Coffee here - buymeacoffee.c...
See how to purchase a day ticket to fish this stretch, plus the parking and a look at a few of the pegs.
This was a very brief session for me - 07:00 to around 11:00 during late Jul-23 with the river level up on average summer conditions due to heavy recent rainfall.
I choose to fish the margin (due to conditions) which produces Barbel and Chub bites out of the nearside edge - Not the most prolific of sessions but still very enjoyable to get a few hours out on the bank.
A few changes made to recent sessions, with shorter hook-lengths used, strong smelling hookbaits, no groundbait or feeders (due to the increased flow) with 3oz leads.
The equipment used was as follows -
Korum 1.75tc barbel rods
Shimano ST4000 baitrunners
ESP Synchro 12lb line
Korda IQ 8lb Flurocarbon hooklengths
Size 8 wide gap hooks
Korum running rig setup
Korum river pod
The Brewery Inn is well worth a choice if you're looking for a day ticket in the Shrewsbury, Telford or Bridgnorth areas of the River Severn.
Thanks for watching and good luck with your own angling. 👍🎣

What is a peg? You have to pay to fish? What does that money go to? Not many fishermen there, why?
@RobsAngling
@RobsAngling 6 ай бұрын
Hi Dave, a peg is the area you fish from.. On this section of the river you do need to pay to fish which is why it’s called a day ticket. There were a number of other anglers further down the section but out of shot so you can’t see them during the video 👍

Night fishing is allowed on certain sections - There aren’t many though. The Severn offers up plenty of day time and dusk/early darkness bites so demand isn’t huge for night fishing like the Trent. 👍🎣

Great video, one of the few anglers who give info out on the stretches & swims, which is excellent for people like me who can only manage a couple of river sessions per season. The other thing I love about your videos is how clean & well looked after your tackle is (just like myself). The number of anglers I see on the bank with their tackle caked in mud/groundbait etc., also their hands/clothing. There’s no need for it, especially as there’s an abundance of water within easy reach!! My tackle is well looked after & clean & some of my gear is 30+ yrs old & still looks/works like new. Looking forward to your next video, with "baited"😂 breath. 👍🏻🎣

...great video! So... who upkeeps these "pegs" and where does the money go that anglers pay to fish? Is it possible to obtain a fishing license and fish any body of water in the UK or are many areas "managed" with a "fishing system" such as these pegs etc etc? Curious how it works
@Esoxlucius51
@Esoxlucius51 Жыл бұрын
Very pleasant place, but the pegs are poorly maintained ( and that's being kind!)most of the ballast has been washed out,or eroded out of the steps down to the pegs.this makes them treacherous when taking tackle down. Next time I'll be going very early morning to make certain of the best peg( yes there is one!)🤞
