Out of all the corn runs I have done, the fresh corn came out with the best flavor in my opinion. Great job Randy!

Wait, why degass a mash? I thought that was only for wine. (I saw your wine gear in the background). Wouldn’t heating it drive out the gas anyway

Great idea! Never thought of using part of a run and leaving it as a White Dog for sipping. Usually I age it all, but with this past weekends run I may just leave some of it as a White Dog. Have you thought of trying any Bloody Butcher corn? It has an interesting flavor and a bitterness that I did not expect.

I think a 2 year soak on good oak barrel chips and it will be awsome
@edwardhershberger6267 Жыл бұрын
From what've gathered oak chips for 2 years would probably over oak it,because theres more surface area on chips than say a barrel would have

@stillworksandbrewing9 ай бұрын
I have and still will use chips they work great but you need to taste test often then when you get the wood taste you are looking for strain them out and bottle put up on shelf and continue to age

If I were you I would look up how manufactured citric acid is made, it is impossible to entirely separate the black mold from which the citric acid is made. It sounds harmless though right? Citric acid, u guess it comes from citrus like I did, but its not at all , it is a commercial product almost entirely manufactured in China, and comes from mold, black mold, it's not safe , like many fda approved products aren't, it's never been tested , buy because of its chemical structure (regardless of its source and contamination never being tested by the fda) being identical to citric acid from citrus, the fda considers it GRAS. Also FYI organic produce is not tested for synthetic petroleum based fertilizer residue , or it's heavy metal ingredients are not tested, that goes for conventional and organic corn , all produce, and why I'm growing 1/4 acre of own corn and here try learn more about the distillation process. Thanks
