What a great tutorial and an innovative modeling technique! Got to run to Home Depot NOW! This reminds me of a technique I used on a few masks I made in the mid 70's, only it was much more time intensive and not nearly as durable: I used cotton batting bandage material soaked in plain gelatin, refrigerated the mask for a couple days to let it "congeal" and dry out a bit and then air dry for several days more, then painted and glued fake fur with aliphatic resin (white glue.) I purchased the single original Werewolf mask kit as a mail order out of Texas, but started making my own mummy and Star Trek Salt Vampire on my own from the same techniques. Each used the cheap and plentiful plastic vampire fangs and bloodshot eyes from the 5 and dime or convenience store. Back then I thought I wanted to grow up be Jack Pierce or Dick Smith, lol.

WOW this was awsome !!!!! Like I said before, I didn't know that you could do "stuff" like this to make masks, pumpkins or whatever. I guess your imagination is your only limit. I don't know when I'll have time to try the foam but I have subscribed to keep me in the loop. ✌🏻❤️ 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

@StiltbeastStudios started experimenting with it in college to block out large forms to sculpt on to save on clay and weight. Then one day thought, heck I could make a finished sculpt just by "drawing" with expansion foam and latexing over it!

This is amazing, I always love the spray foam stuff! I bought a bunch of cans and still haven't had the time or space to make something myself. I'd love to see you do something like a deep sea monster with barnacles and scales, or maybe an insect of some kind? Something where your imagination can run wild.

Just subscribed. Been enjoying your spray foam vids. I just bought 50 cans of this foam from a dude on FB Marketplace for $2 a piece (score). Really enjoyed your Grinch Bust and this one as well. You mentioned in the Grinch vid that you should make a Slimer. I agree. I am planning on attempting a Life Size Slimer Yard decoration for Halloween. I would love to see your version and I bet others would too. If you already made it I just haven't found it yet. Thanks for sharing these techniques.

This is brilliant! I'm planning on making a fursuit head with Fosshape but need to sculpt the base for that Fossshape to form onto, and didn't want to go through the effort of making a head out of upholstery foam that would only get discarded. I know for a fact that Loctite is easy to carve and smooth once cured, so this method will work great for my purposes. Thank you for the added techniques of heating it, sculpting different pieces on the plastic, etc.... can't wait to start practicing!
