I agree. I've been noticing this for years now. It's why I try not to watch trailers or shut them off at the thirty second mark. I remember when a trailer used to be a tease or a taste. Something that entices you to want to see the film to see what happens. Now it's the entire flick shown in order, condensed to three to five minutes. It's because people don't want to be guessing anymore. If they can't watch the whole movie in the trailer they get confused and don't want to watch it 😂

@@TRINZINI Ironically, I watched this movie with the same expectation. But I must say, the characters were actually well done and were more engaging than the horror storyline itself. I found myself wanting more character development, rather than cool horror stuff. It kind of reminded me of Evil Dead 2, where they were trying to make the characters serious but ended up being so over the top making it hysterical.

Definitions do allow for spiders to sting. A sting is often defined as a venomous puncture-wound. This would apply to spiders. Merriam-webster even notes sting under the definition of bite. Fun fact, JRR Tolkien, who was a linguist, referred to spiders as stinging (this is why the LOTR films include Shelob with a stinger - despite not having one in the book... people just assume 'sting' means that a bee-like stinger must be used). Historically/etymologically speaking, sting was used to refer to a puncture-wound (so, a spear could sting). It was also applied to snake bites, interestingly. Anyway, basically, the definition of sting apply - there is an overlap, despite people thinking otherwise ('spiders have fangs, therefore it's a bite, not sting') - people generally use words that 'feel' right, even if incorrect: consider mosquito bites... mosquitoes don't have teeth, or jaws, so how can they bite? They just inject their blood-sucky thing into you, which makes the skin itch because of their saliva - I dunno if it counts as venom or not, but let's assume it does for the sake of the argument... by that definition, it's a sting. But people use 'bite' because the 'mouth' portion is used - but according to certain definitions, that is irrelevant. tldr: spiders sting.

i actually really missed the classical giant spider horror genre. All started out with the "Arachnophobia" movie series which wasn't even about giant spiders just more so a honestly horrific take on tarantulas. Thought 8 legged freaks would bring that ol horror back with the 8 legged friends but nope. Turned it into a damn comedy. Now THIS? looks like their actually trying to bring those ol horror vibes back and i'm here for it.
