Does anyone here know a thing or two about music theory? I don’t. All I know is that there is something about the ascending progression in the verse section of this song, at the 0:24 and 0:46 marks in the video, for example, that seems so beautiful. I remember the first time I heard this song and thinking what a clever songwriting decision that is. But maybe to more musically inclined listeners who know the scale parameters in this song can hear it coming, or at least anticipate it coming? Any thoughts?
