Sounds absolutely fantastic with flats on especially the inner coils and bridge only!

Didn't expect Thomastik flats to sound so good on this bass!

Yeah I kinda heard it already before I changed the strings. Very happy with the tone. The strings are a great way to temper the raw tone of your instrument and give you a solid starting point for adding EQ

My 88 Stingray 5 is strung with EB Colbalt flats. It sounds great. Pity it’s so heavy, it never gets taken out. 😕

This one is 3.9kg! I'm not joking, it feels as tho my gig bag is empty

@@RobinMullarkey Mine’s 4.6 Kg …. A bit shy of 10 1/2 pounds. So, it’s actually not bad for it’s era. I’m just a wimp with tiny shoulders. In fact a three inch strap makes me look like Alexis Carrington (Joan Collins - Dynasty) ! 😳

Is that short bit in the outro also played with the stingray special?

Hey. That's actually my Yamaha bb2025x from an old audio sting that I use in all my vids. The Stingray isn't really capable of that kind of growl

Sounds a bit like a Fodera with flats+singlecoil settings
