Hi Kevin good effort there glad she’s made it, I guess a big water change to go with this. can you show us a closer look at the baskets you have made, I need to build something like this to hold my females. I previously used tie wraps to hold the netting but yours look a lot neater.

Sorry about that Kevin! But it does come with the territory breeding animals. I definitely understand the heartache. I have experienced the same in breeding large constrictors. When they go septic it can be lethal in reptiles. In my experience with breeding reptiles, eggs usually die due to Temps and stress. Too hot will kill the embryo and so will too much undue stress. Not familiar with rays, but I am very excited to finally get some from you! Working on a huge tank build now! Hope this helps a little Kevin.

Thank you for making the video even though it’s not what anyone hoped for. I had been so worried about her, because I was worried she had decaying pups. Unfortunately I was right but relieved she’s passed them out as she could get toxicity from them and her life be threatened. Whew.

Your going to have to find a way to get some sort of antibiotic treatment for her, the dead pups starting to decay, even after being expelled from the body is bound to leave some sort of toxic bacteria that could cause septicemia, which can get in all her organs and even her bloodstream, so its important to find some way for an antibiotic/antibacterial treatment to be administered.

In humans it is often called Toxiemia or toxic shock syndrom (sorry about spelling) in humans often associated with eclampsiea and preeclampsiea . I KNOW IF THIS HAPPENS YOU ARE MORE LIKELY TO HAVE IT REOCCURE.
