I discovered your videos last night and have been binge watching since as my husband and I did the Welland Canal many years ago, our cruising was quite different then yours but we seem to enjoy the same things. Must say you need to experience Louisiana crab cakes and I gather you did not like the soft shell crab, wasn't fried right. Stay safe and keep those videos coming.

"I feel like I want to go to church". My recommendation is......go to church. Try it, you may like it! As my husband and I sailed the Great Lakes this summer, one of the highlights was attending Mass on Sundays at the various towns. We are enjoying your videos.

Everything about this video made it my favorite 😊Those little towns have my name written all over them . The church. The old cemetery. All of the white homes, the beautiful Inn where you ate lunch !!! The beautiful blue sky. I was lost in this video. I’m ready to watch it again. Thank you for taking me along ⛵️☀️

Jennifer, it's friends like you that make the video production rewarding for me - I cannot convey how much your compliments mean to me. If you ever have cause to travel to Washington, D.C. - chaperoning kids or lobbying for the rights of nice people - you could visit these little side spots, easily . . . And eat fresh crab. ( ; ) Who knows, a few more spotlights on future stops and Chesapeake Bay itself may rate a visit on its own - boat or no boat!! Thanks again for all your kind words. - Dennis

Wow - thank you! I have been to all states in the U.S., except Louisiana and Hawaii. Hey, I'm up for a crawdad and I use Louisiana Cajun seasoning regularly😊 - maybe the deep fry is what got to me . . . Thank you sooo much for hopping aboard and I really appreciate your comments. Perhaps your canal experience was dampened by weather or wind. Those were my challenges.

The Soft Shell Crab Po-Boy at New Orleans Jazz Fest is my favorite. 😋

You have greater intestinal fortitude than me, Tracie - just the deep fry was enough to send me to the small room . . . The crab flavor - honestly - was nearly nonexistent . . . to nauseating . . . Not a fan! 😅

Danette, you have been aboard since the beginning - thank you! I hope the summer has been fun and the strudel went over well (Cherry Point Market near Shelby Michigan is getting darn famous for their goods - and lovable proprietor/author Barbara Bull).

@@dennismckee7934 who can complain about a Michigan summer? They’re over so fast!

I agree - churches, houses, and old downtowns get shown on my journey because they are so frequently reflections of beauty -something the world would miss if we had to prioritize against health, security, well-being, etc. Beauty is more appreciated than we take time to express, I feel . . . A good sermon might also have some beauty in it that I could appreciate. We'll see . . . So far, lightning has not come near me . . . But if I step into a church . . . Hmmmmm . . .

Our plan is similar..get from georgian bay to chesapeak from may to late june..haul out for hurricane season , ho home and hed back to continue on once storm season is done..no sense to explore the chesapeake in oct and nov..this is the way to do it in nice weather. Fair winds

Iiiiiiii think the locals will tell you to sail in the Chesepeake during September and October . Definitely chilly in November, the trade-off may be worth it. In Maryland, sailors leave in their boats and sail all winter in the brackish water. Crazy!! Good luck to you on your adventure; please let me know how it goes.

Hey, Trevor - Thanks for hopping aboard. This part of the trip was really a lot of fun. I'm from Michigan - and I had to get used to that salty water and all that lives in it. 😊

Creative content and skillful editing has produced a very nice video--good job. Old houses full of termites and mold don't interest me, nor a cemetery of past lives. But that curvy barmaid, if she winked at me, she'd be getting my full attention . . .

Jenn!!! . . . You have a fan . . . Look for her also in the Rum video by Brothers Osborne. And, your point is valid - nice ladies make plenty of sailing videos more appealing to all. Thanks for following this dude making his way.

Saint Micheals has that magical quality. If you want a great anchorage, backtrack a tad and go up the Wye East to Dividing creek and check out the nature preserve.
