Finally found a yummy and simple recipe for cabbage. Absolutely loved it. Now every time I find cabbage at home, I am making this.

Very nice video. Thank you for sharing. I suggest the following optional modifications to the recipe: 1. Use Taiwanese cabbage specifically. It is similar to the green cabbage used in this video, but it's slightly flatter in shape and is naturally higher in sugar content and more tender than green cabbage. With this you can reduce the amount of sugar added to the sauce by about 50%. 2. Use the hard part of the cabbage leaf, but keep it separate from the tender part. Add it to the pan a few minutes before the soft part and they will all cook together nicely. 3. For the sauce mixture, add a small amount of corn starch before mixing and it will be slightly thicker, but still taste the same. It helps with the final texture and coats the leaf better. 4. Use Chinkiang vinegar specifically for anyone that wasn't sure which type to use. It will taste much more authentic than balsamic. 5. Add ginger (same amount as the garlic), for some additional flavour. You won't regret it! 6. Leave out the Sichuan pepper corns. 7. When tearing the cabbage, use larger pieces of cabbage (double the size used in this video) as it will be easier to pick up regardless of whether you use chopsticks or a fork.

Great Dish!!! I happened to have a cabbage in the fridge so I tried this. It was so easy I didn't even have to write anything down. I used dried red pepper flakes & a bit of chopped fresh red pepper for color. Thank you!!

Is this salad? It is not cooked properly. Also at 2:15, it says "add 1 tablespoon soya sauce and 1 tablespoon vinegar." But it looks look like you added 2 tablespoon soya sauce. Or is the second one a type of vinegar (black one if there is one)?
@PaldensKitchen4 жыл бұрын
I used black vinegar. Stir frying the cabbage in a hot pan cooks the cabbage fast, no worries.
