Those are private companies that control all of that. The GOP allows these companies to reduce competition and gouge you. Dems introduced legislation to monitor refinery production and make sure we don't get gouged, and the GOP is against it. Dems protect consumers, and have gone after food companies, and the GOP is against it. Dems just wrote a bill that would ban hedge funds from owning single family homes, and GOP is against it. Hedge funds have comprised 27% of home purchases over the last 5 years. 27% of them... and they are the ones who can afford to gouge you for rent.
