I was part of an Earls court military tattoo royal guard (RN). We got bussed in from across London with police cars & motorcycles that would go ahead lights flashing and, shut down roads, roadabouts etc, very cool. One night I was ferried around different pubs by a navy bomb squad land rover decked out with blue police lights & sirens, great fun jumping queues & lights with lights & sirens blazing away on to the next pint.

Down in the southern States, nukes are frequently moved from the navy base to the refurbishment site, but they use an unmarked, white tanker truck. Seemingly unguarded, but there is an Apache Attack Helicopter following it high up where it is almost invisible.

@barrybadman4624 3 жыл бұрын
There would be 2 of Apaches in a high wheel. Just out of interest was it the Apache crew or ground crew that gave away the nuclear secrets that will get you about 35 million years in the penitentiary part of leavenworth?

@@barrybadman4624 this is publicly known >_> everyone knows the US moves her nukes quite often >_> aint no secret when you got an unmarked truck, either surrounded by a ground force, platoon size usually, and or air cover from 1 or more attack helicopters and potentially a drone ready to strike at a finger button press, so again, whose going to jail? The two are often decoys yes, but they can contains parts for the convoys such as mechanical equipment, spares, tyres, etc, same reason as sometimes you'll often notice a truck without a trailer following behind the fire vehicles, as they're there if they need to swiftly swap and leave.

Very interesting! From those who've I spoken to inside the bases. There was NO LAST MILITARY VEHICLE in this convoy. Usually towing a trailer (in which, an entire emergency de-contamination facility is stored) & is IN FACT the convoy control vehicle. So this indicates, that NOTHING was being carried at the time. They certainly, use the civilian/military format to the whole convoy, to keep everyone trained to standard expected. None of the indicator panels seen (normally) on "live" convoys, where being displayed. Further proof that this was an empty run, at the time.

@g0bl1n1962
@g0bl1n1962 9 жыл бұрын
Mike R Okay, Mike. YES, they are usually at the rear of the convoy. There could also be some proven logic to this thinking. From a very recently passed (in Oxfordshire) SWC, the trucks used for the actually carrying of the hardware. where (believe it or not) Curtain sided commercial tractor trailer trucks, as I believe they are called in Ameri-speak. The last truck WAS the control vehicle in the convoy which gave itself away, by the 2 white mobile satellite blister domes, on an olive green hardsided truck. It was also towing an enclosed trailer, which further enquiries suggest was the decontamination unit. British HSE (Ameri-speak OHSA) regulations DEMAND the presence of the fire truck and decon gear trailer. My contacts argue the proven logic of the control vehicle being the last one in the convoy, is the ability to react (safely) to counter ambush activities (whereas Uncle Sam CAN deliver a few gunships, in the UK, this would prove something of a clear giveaway indication of military presence). The last vehicle in such a convoy, would prove the least likely to get the majority of the attacking force output (most of which would be spent on "taking out" the main guard vehicles AND the carriers themselves!). Also (& this is often done, in restricted traffic flow circumstances), the control vehicle CAN deliberately drop a few hundred metres behind the main convoy, to avoid direct entrapment & allow some isolated response to the main body (would you rather have someone to observe, outside the main group with a radio to contact higher authorities in the chain of command, than have some garbled or totally isolated group whose immediate communications ability has been knocked out & no one knows the reality of what is happening, nor why there is no comms traffic taking place). However, anyone reading this & considering doing something extremely stupid, would find themselves probably shot before being asked questions. SWCs operate at level of security, where government ministers CAN allow such engagement rules to be the SWC operating norm. I did hear some years ago, of my contacts in a West Country SWC event, being confronted on a pedestrian bridge over a British version of an Interstate, by yewfs brandishing toy AK47s, they spotted the laser spots on them BEFORE the order was given. Had they pointed them in the direction of the SWC, the order would never have had to been given, the response would be automatic! I understand each got 36 months custodial sentence, but were seriously shaken enough to release them after 18 months or so. I also have learnt, that since 9/11, the whole engagement event scenarios HAS BEEN lowered to what some old hands call old Cold War wartime mobilisation levels. Not small arms retort, but Browning HMG responses as the norm!! NOTA BENE:- From my original posting, my contacts have sat down & watched this video firsthand. ALL agree on one major point. The cameraperson, PANNED AWAY too early to capture the final vehicles ( perhaps the most important !) in this convoy. It was definitely an empty run, but also noted, was the number of extra (Royal Marine) & armoured civilian livery police trucks/vans included - suggested training in "live conditions" was aired in reply to me. I hope that someone in the Office of Strategic Transport (Stateside) picks up on this reply. They may get some of an education about how the Limeys go about such matters. Although, they maybe seriously surprised to learn that we Brits use "curtain sided tractor trailers" to carry our military nukes! Happy reading guys!!

Barry Buddon Barry, I was close enough to qualify that these trucks DID NOT have anything that visible from a protective stance associated with them. Certainly, the cabs could carry some interesting hardware to prevent hijacking them. However, for all intent purposes, the vehicles was pretty standard civilian contractors, everyday curtain sided trailers. There could have been satcomm blisters on their roofs to allow metre by metre tracking en route. I believe that a couple of troops could be given a small cabin affair behind the curtain siding, to ensure that anyone attempting to make any unauthorised penetrations of the trailer would be dealt with. But they would have to endure some hours in such, using empty fabric softener bottles for normal calls of nature! However, IF the underside of these vehicle HAD BEEN ARMOURED or adapted for such, then I was close enough to spot that also. But it would be fair to accurately surmise that there were enough armoured extremely agile personnel carriers which would have allowed a number of heavily armed characters to make a serious impression in counter attack mode. Don't forget, a single code word on a monitored frequency could bring much airborne ground attack support within minutes to the area (we do have Apaches available for such) & such SWC movements are normally conducted near to military airspace clearances in the first place. I can also recall, the day that 9/11 occurred, I was in Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire, when 2 fighters cracked windows in their race to defend London airspace. As another observer commented (& we did not know anything about what had happened) "Something MUST BE ON, to allow military aircraft to break supersonic over land!". So from that direct experience, anyone stupid enough to attempt to engage such military vehicle movements with violence, can expect an awfully robust response!!
