Very nice. I sent Rod of Stirling samples of ADP soaps many years ago and it inspired them to make Piacenza. I can see now that it was worth the effort. The singing made it worth the postage fees. Well done:)

@Warren.I4 жыл бұрын
In New York City we applaud our frontline workers every night and throw in some cowbells. If we tried what you do, they'd think someone in the neighborhood just sank a 6 foot putt. Different cultures, for sure. Great to see the Tatara again. The change in the base plate also reduced the blade gap from 0.90 to 0.63 mm. Maybe that's part of the difference you noticed. I just finished up a year on blood thinner using the Masamune with its -0.13 blade exposure. It worked like a charm. In fact now that I'm back trying out more efficient razors again ,I'm finding myself more in need of balms than I ever was with the Tatara. It's one great shaving tool. Cheers, Kevy!
@kevyshaves41094 жыл бұрын

Keep the fun stuff coming to keeps us amused, it's serious enough outside. I'm one of the many wet shavers who are guilty of having too many soaps, although no Stirling yet. It's a good idea to drain the soap tub and leave the lid off to dry out, if water sits underneath the soap in tub mould can grow. Never seen that razor before, looks well made though.

A shave, and an aria to boot! Stirling is indeed the absolute apex of accoutrements. I enjoy their formulation, and the reliable performance it always provides. The Tatara is very well machined. The dimpled handle, and the blade guides are both form and function. The mild plate did surprise me to be honest. The feedback was a joyous sonnet of efficiency. The residual slickness from Piacenza made its presence known with just a small wisp of water! The IC brush is the most inventive one-off I've ever seen. Both Iian Creighton, and Arthur Lamb are tremendous artisans, and they should share the same stage as Rod & Mandy Lovan, of Stirling Soap Company. I hope Mrs Kevy was enamored by the panty-dropping, seductive power of Piacenza. If she wasn't, I'm sure your neighbor was. Thank you for the generous shout-out, Kev! I could not help but feel appreciated. Enjoy all your Stirling gear in good health. Please keep safe, and as always, pass on my kind regards.

Hey Kevy! M7 Silicon gasket ring for the Tatara Handle to cushion and prevent scratching against the base. You are in a good mood! I do love the "Frankenstein" combination with the Tatara Masamune Base and Nodachi Cap. While the Default Masamune is a little too gentle unless you dropped in a really sharp blade due to the negative blade exposure at -0.13mm, and the default Nodachi is great but isn't really a daily shaving razor, much less for my twice a day shaving habit, the best performing, most comfortable razor setup is the Tatara Masamune Base + Nodachi Cap, bar none, and with a good blade, smooth to the point you almost don't feel the blade. Great shave BTW, I need to get some of that Piacenza!

That's a nice looking razor 😃 I guess I'm OK. I finished reading my book. At the end of the month when I pay my bills I am going to start sending for things again and I'll try an get something shaving related. I had a good shave last night. I did the first pass with one of my shavettes then the second pass with a DE safety razor. No cut or irritation. I was going to use for the first time a tube of CLASSIC PALMOLIVE shave cream that I had gotten just before the virus outbreak. There was no safety seals at all and if I'm reading the expiration date correctly it's 02 05 19. I didn't use it and think that I may have been hornswoggled. Does your tubes of Palmolive have any safety seals?
@kevyshaves41094 жыл бұрын

I have not found these USTA blades to try...yet. Stirling soaps are great performers. Yep, too many soaps...about a 20 year supply. Christ, I will be 80 by the time I need to purchase more...yet I do buy more...so crazy. Same thing happened with the blades, handles, aftershaves, and now brushes! I went to buy another That Darn Rob brush and ended with 3...OMG. Lather porn...does Mrs. Kevy know about this fetish? I hear the Derby blade cutting; congratulations..hehe. This world-wide lock down/social distancing can't be maintained. The stated purpose was to prevent the health care workers and hospital from being overwhelmed. It was never meant to save each and everyone of us from the virus. The virus will infect most of us unfortunately, but when that happens most humans will be immune to that strain. Better to let people get exposed to it at a controllable rate and then be done with it. Most people will go insane if this turns into home arrest. You have inspired me to go freshen my shave.
