Also I think Gene and Den are the two other big wildcards this year that use a lot of singing techniques. But there’s also lots of other solo beatboxers and beatbox crews to check out if you want to keep exploring.

Thanks so much for reacting to more beatboxing! Stitch is using 2 vocal techniques he’s using here, one is a polyphonic voice that some other beatboxers do as well as the singer Lalah Hathaway, which I haven’t seen a technical explanation of (though your attempt was close to how most people sound trying to find it, so I think your on the right track, but it does sound awful for a while). His other method is very strange and involves holding an air bubble in his throat, like when you swallow air to make yourself burp. I have no idea how it works, and haven’t seen anyone else do it, but he has tutorials on his KZbin channel. Lots of fun vocal mysteries to explore! I think he also uses both techniques together at the end.

I think Show-Go and Stich have tutorial videos on their "double voice" and "polyphonic voice" techniques, respectively, but obviously they require so much time and dedication to master. Show-Go particularly makes a lot of content, while a lot of other beatboxers go through phases.

I've been hoping all the vocal coach reaction channels would start reacting to beatbox videos. Breath control, circular breathing, timing, tempo, multitasking, singing, polyphonics, overtone singing, multiple throat singing techniques, inhaled and exhaled, sub harmonics and so many other incredible techniques that vocal teachers could enjoy and analyze!

6:12 that's actually right, it is a variation of the polyphonic voice which is created by finding the exact balance between chest voice and falsetto (it's not stitch's technique though, his is a balance between a whisper and falsetto) (there are also like 8 variations of polyphonic voice so yeah it's crazy) good job!

If you liked Stitch, you have to watch Gene Shinozaki. His vocals are incredible and his beatboxing is sensational.
@LurningCurve3 жыл бұрын
So the polyphonic technique isn’t using false cords. It’s a very light mixed voice with head voice. Mixing lower register creates a distortion and makes the clean tone Stitch is doing very difficult. This is similar to Layla Hathaway’s technique. If you would like to discuss, I am one of the co-owner of Human Beatbox and have been working on how to explain this technique as well as double voice, but would love to have a vocal expert share their knowledge on the topic.
@iseeyou87733 жыл бұрын
That voice that stitch used on the second drop I believe is a different version of a polyphonic vocal that he has perfected over the years and I think the sound mainly comes from either the shape of the tongue or a thing to do with your vocal cords

He actually is doing polyphonic, and he puts a filter on it with the shape of his mouth and throat and tongue, he’s actually singing 5 notes at the same time, checkout “David with the long hair” or “David Larson”, he’s a bass singing specialist that breaks down beatbox sounds and he explains it very well, but basically, yeah he’s doing polyphonic voice and putting it into a beat

Hey Ken! If you want to listen to something crazy and probably never heard before then listen to "Igorrr - tout petit moineau", the "band" (or more like the artist?) Igorrr has two vocalists singing for him, in this song only the female vocalist is active but she has a opera background, which could be interesting for you. The vocalists that are part of Igorrr dont have lyrics and are free to do what they want, Igorrr (the instrumentalist) delivers the musik (very very crazy stuff) and they simply let their emotions lose to it, so they basically make up "words" that fits the moment. the older albums (for example Halleluja) were crazy as it can get and you cant put it basically into any genre kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJ3EeYKrpJ5nh6c is the mp3 on youtube you get, there's a live version from 2014 that is extremly good, but for the whole experience and not just vocals you should listen to the link i put here would be great if you REALLY want to experience something NEW i btw love your channel, keep up the good work! :)
