tbh i really liked the "gime 5 secs" bit, it, imo, challenges the normal structure (buildup drop buildup drop).

I completely agree. However, battles are becoming mini-showcases where the artists who create a "track" that is structured like your typical [verse-buildup-drop] are rewarded because it is easier to follow and connect with. Which is fine ig, especially in such a big stage like GBB, you want the crowd on your side, but footboxg's willingness to use compound time signatures on a big stage really stood out imo.
