And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the reason why the Ice Climbers never made it to Super Smash Bros. for 3DS/Wii U. Because they came back to Mountain-33 where they could pay their respects to their fallen fellow climber that they left behind, only to face the consequences for leaving them on the mountain to die.

I don’t think the Third Child (the green Ice Climber) was ever given an actual name, so I’m gonna call him Toto, just to match Nana and Popo’s names.

Also, it’s really nice how the Pause Menu changes to accomodate what goes on during the game, e.g. after Nana disappears, her icon in the Menu turns grey, and after Popo dies, his body turns grey and bloody, his legs disappear and his face turns black with red eyes.
