Probably a silly question but how do you get your machine to stitch this design. I have tried creating stx files but they are just single designs and just for the sewing machine as opposed to the embroidery machine ( I have the Horizon 15000). I’m sorry if this makes no sense to you. I guess I ought to go and play with the software and figure it out for myself. I really had no idea you could combine stitches and create designs like yours for the embroidery machine. Now I know I’ll give it a go. So thank you for demonstrating this even though I, as yet, don’t know how to get the machine to stitch out the design.

Hi Woodcat, that’s not a silly question at all! I’m glad you asked, as this video was made as part of a class that I teach so the students knew what the next steps to stitch are. If you can wait awhile for me to make another video I will explain a little more. Thanks so much for watching the video!

Woodcat, answering you again! It’s been awhile since I made the video so I watched it again to see what I neglected to say that left you asking “how…” This is the for purchase Janome AcuStitch program which enables us to use .stx (stitch) files on the embroidery side of our machine. However, in the Embroidery Edit section of Horizon Link Suite we have the basic use of doing the same thing. It’s in the “Convert stx” section at the right side of the toolbars. I also have a very extensive video on using that, but for now it’s in a separate not listed playlist because it was made for my paying students.

Goodness. Thank you so much for getting back to me so fast. I’ll take a look at the edit section. Actually I didn’t know about a purchased Acustitch, I may also look into that although I am just a hobbyist. I do however have Hatch 2 and have created motifs. I sort of realised after playing with it a while most of what you explained in your motifs video but not with such clarity. So thank you for that, I’ll be able to use it in future with far more confidence, understanding that some things I might wish to achieve simply aren’t possible and it’s not me being incompetent. Splendid, thank you.

Thank you so much for letting me view this video. I truly had no idea you could do so much with the Horizon link software. I took a gander earlier today at the Acustitch software and as my son had given me some Christmas money to buy fabric, I decided instead to spend some of it on the Acustitch as it seemed a reasonable price. So thanks to you I shall enjoy exploring the software and trying to be as creative as you, though I know that is highly unlikely! Thank you again.
