Stiv may have lived a very rough life, But in every interview at least that I’ve heard it’s a breath of fresh air to hear how well spoken & full of a bit more life he was compared to some of his (with all due respect) miserable junkie peers.

@@K._Oss Stiv was drunk as a skunk when he died. I mean, I get it… heroin bad, booze good, but the fact is that had it not been for the alcohol, he probably never would’ve stumbled out onto a busy Paris street and gotten hit by a car in the first place, but he probably would’ve had enough mental clarity to make the decision to go to the hospital after being hit, rather than deciding to just go home and pass out (and subsequently die of internal bleeding)… so in his case it never really mattered much that he was no longer spiking junk.
@Albrecht7774 ай бұрын
@@Shikta-poobah67 I'm not sure that he "stumbled out onto a busy Paris street". Some reports regarding what happened claim that he was on his motorbike when hit. I've also read recollections which maintain that he _did_ go to hospital, but got fed up of waiting and returned home.
@Shikta-poobah674 ай бұрын
@@Albrecht777 I’m sure there are a lot of different accounts of the specific events that led up to his death, but one thing that is certain is that the official cause of death was massive internal bleeding, caused by direct impact with a vehicle of some sort. However none of that was my point. My point, which was directed to the OP, K._Oss, was that it was poor judgment that killed Stiv, and that poor judgement was almost entirely influenced by alcohol, since the OP seemed to be throwing the attitude of “but at least Stiv wasn’t a junkie” (which he actually was at one point, not that it matters). I was simply pointing out the irony of the OP talking in a condescending, judgmental tone about heroin addicts, when it was alcohol that was almost entirely to blame for Stiv’s untimely demise.

I don't know exactly where this interview took place but it was in Toronto. This interview was for a late, great CITY-TV music magazine program that ran in the early 80s called The New Music. It was such a great show with tons of memorable interviews.

@@mylifeinconcert Yes, Toronto born and raised here. Loved The New Music, Much Music, Speakers Corner, pretty much everything CITY-TV. Actually met Denise Donlon when she was Prez of Sony Music up on Leslie just north of Eglinton. Also met Mark Daily (“City TV....EVERYWHERE”). Was trying to figure out where in Toronto this interview was done as it doesn’t look familiar at all. For some reason I’m getting Inn on the Park or The Prince Hotel vibes but have no clue. Thanks for getting back to me tho.
