08:05: The idea if you have an isolated a-pawn, consider trading it... Never thought or heard of that before, but it makes sense, and will probably result in an improvement to my overall game. Learning these kind of "general principles" is one of the reasons I like this channel so much...

When your opponent makes a move, it isn't where it was, it's where it went to. Because GM Finegold said so.

@felixeisenmenger6254
@felixeisenmenger6254 8 жыл бұрын
You checkmate your opponent and you are at least a pawn up (+1). It is redundant since you checkmate him anyway but it's one of Finegolds little jokes.

By now I really wonder how "crush da kids" Ben would perform vs. Yasser. Being a GM is for life and doesn't say anything about play strength after all. Please CCSCSL, do a round robin Rapid tournament of all commentators!

Yasser is much stronger than Ben (Yasser used to be world top 20). The truth hurts
@12jswilson
@12jswilson Жыл бұрын
@@leadnitrate2194 top 10 in the world. He was a candidate multiple times. Ben was "world's strongest IM" for about a decade and roughly the strength of an average GM at his peak but didn't finish getting the norms until he was 40 years old

+liam314 Yay, you really wonder what Ben is doing day in and day out w/o doing a lecture and/or posting a yt vid. It's not like he's doing it for free, all the positive comments around here should satisfy him more than enough.

+Big Brother I enjoy Ben's lectures but I wish he would lecture on recent world class games rather than his own games. His games are obviously better than anyone watching these vids but I think Ben is at his best when explaining world class games to us patzers!
