Very nice lecture! However, putting the objectivity cap on, it was just a dense maneuvering game where white applied slight psychological pressure on his opponent who finally crumbled after the time control (43. ...Bd8?!, 44. ...Bc7?) in a position that was basically still a fortress. The concession 27...a5?! is probably best understood as result of looming time pressure, where black was not willing to spend ages for each turn on the potential consequences of a4-a5 b6-b5 (likely always a big achievement for black). At this point it was instead likely best play for both sides to shuffle pieces behind the pawn wall entrenchments, as neither side is likely to further reinforce his position throughout the static warfare. So, nice choice of Le against his more hot-blooded opponent.

I learned a lot here, terrific lecture. That explanation of the ideas behind the b4 pawn sac in such structures was exceptionally instructive for me.
