What I find interesting is that the overall score between them is so close

They had opposing styles. Karpov was more dependable solid and Kasparov was more unpredictable and dynamic.

Fascinating! I can't wait to study the games in this matches - especially the games by Karpov. As I have improved in chess rating/strength I have come to appreciate some of the positional subtleties that I took for granted in the past. Like most beginners I used to be all about those crazy combinations that we know Tal for but the reality is that those tactics don't exist without errors from the opponent.

Once, Kim Kardashian plopped her big and fake booty on the chessboard when Karpov and Kasparov were both seriously playing in a match. Kasparov and Karpov were surprised because she came out of nowhere and made the chess pieces fly all over the place when she smashed her big booty on the chessboard...Karpov sat there annoyed, Kasparov stormed off in annoyance.

Karpov vs Kasparov is like Mew vs Mewtwo (with Mew being Karpov, Mewtwo being Kasparov).

that thumbnail gave me a spookin

The one who was against stopping the match was Kasparov, not Karpov. Because Karpov was so exhausted that Kasparov had a great chance to win that match, and he knew it.

Out of the box (board) strategy of Kasparov, keeping draws to create more time until karpov declining slowly eating his intellect by his age.

I like yasser but the first story is not well told. Kasparov protested so strongly for the annullation of the first match in a public conference.

Can you address Bobby Fischer's assertion that those Russian championship games were prearranged??
@MrSupernova1114 жыл бұрын
The Karpov vs Kasparov matches happened over ten years after Fischer disappeared. Get your facts straight.

Bobby Fischer was an entitled madman who had no idea what he was saying. He was a shadow of someone who used to be a big deal. What is the support to the claim that it was prearranged?

@@Detherocable No those labels about him are quite exaggerated he knew inside information period

@@MrSupernova111 so what? he didn't "disappear", he just quit chess. and he did claim that he had studied the WC match between Kasparov and Karpov, and came to the conclusion that the games were prearranged. (i don't believe he bothered to explain by whom, with what possible purpose etc., but that's another story)

This is great content, but they should have just uploaded one long video or at least turned off notifications for all but one.
