St Louis' Historic Districts

I grew up in St. Louis. I went back last summer for the first time in about 30 years. I was pleasantly surprised by how lovely Delmar is now, well beyond the Loop.

I was born in St. Louis in 1947. As a young boy when it snowed I lived less than a mile from the homes shown up till the 1.30 minute mark and we would grab our shovels and head there as there was money to be made shoveling the driveways and sidewalks. I lived in a middle income area and you couldn't make much money there shoveling snow.

I'm moving back home tomorrow I have lived in St Louis for 7 years. The architecture, history and people here are absolutely stunning I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay here

Some of these have been built, new, in the last 5 years. The one pictured at about 6 minutes, I'm pleased to mention, has been restored! I'm familiar with all of the buildings in the video, and have been in dozens of them. The reconstruction of hundreds of these fine buildings have been done, generally by the OWNERS, and the projects began when financing and insurance were not available. A huge round of applause is richly deserved.

Grew up So side lived Waverly Pl. NUCHOLSON PL. To. All were rooming houses. R they now. Looks familiar went Shepard Elementary. Holy Cross Lutheran.
