This kind of traveling used to be my dream long time ago, even before I discovered beer. But in Poland it's practically impossible to hitchhike a train that way. The railway network is much denser, routes are shorter, tracks go through inhabited areas - so you would be very quickly noticed by the Railway Security Guard or the Police and got busted at the nearest stop. Generally, in Europe it's difficult to get lost in the middle of nowhere. You always have this annoying feeling of safety almost everywhere.
