Dear friends, welcome back to my carving and sculpture workshop. In this video I show you a work of mine that dates back to two years ago, it was undoubtedly my first truly complex work, but also one that really gave me a lot of satisfaction. The subject is a character of my invention inspired by northern European legends. If you also want to learn how to build this wooden automaton, carefully watch the tutorial, which I have tried to make as complete as possible, without exceeding the time of the video. The format of the video is unusual compared to the old ones, I chose not to insert my voice and music in the background, to try to obtain a more relaxing result. I hope you like this new format, let me know in the comments!

While I appreciate the amount of time this took, I'm also a big admirer of your multiple talents and patience - coming up with the concept, laying out the patterns, various wood working skills, painting and a bit of weaving on top of the mechanical skills - that's a lot. Bravo!

WOW! I knew this wasn’t an easy piece to create, but watching you make it, really emphasizes that! Fantastic craftsmanship! 💖

Excellent work and vision! Thanks very much for sharing. I'm gonna make one, or at least give it a try! Just one question, if I can ask: When gluing the cams on the axis, do you always shift them by 1/4 turn?

So cool! Quick question : why do we need the wire rods at 5:52 to keep the sticks in line, if we then hold each stick in place with wire rings at 23:17?
