Oh my word. Alessandro. This is just incredible. Thank you so, SO much! Just brilliant work here, I'm so honoured that you'd do this! This is going to be such a massive help to people. Assuming you're ok with it, with full credit to you, I've liked this on the site! Also, more generally, if there are bits in the manual that people would like explaining differently, please do email and I'll see what I can do :-)

Question. When you have only set the notes in one octave. And you start to use Linearity. Does it break the set rules(of only operating in 1 octave) and wanders to different octaves or is it playing linear in the set octave?

Excellent! Looking to buy this, and it’s helpful to see a demo/tutorial/guide featuring other modules all of which I already own (or clones). Thank you!

Great vid, throughly enjoyed your presentation. For someone just starting out, what would be a barebones addition to this module to begin experimenting?
@AlessandroMastroianni Жыл бұрын
This module can do a LOT and it’s very deep, you would at the very least need a voice (such as an oscillator). I’m using Mutable Rings in this video. The good thing is that SIG contains envelopes so you can save on that. And you might want a filter if you’re using more traditional oscillators.

A hassle to tune, but four 2hp Pluck modules, into a Doepfer stereo mixer would sound gloriously polyphonic (in 16hp!).

One thing I dislike about the way it does multi-track operation is that if you switch from track A to B the sliders become "disconnected" and don't reflect the current state of the track. I'd like to see a mode where the additional track uses the same sequence but reevaluates the probabilities. This way if you have to VCOs they'd play on the same "scale" and changing the sequence would change the pitch of both VCOs at once. It would make it far more playable.

@@AlessandroMastroianni hmm. Your review was great. Thanks for the video. I am looking for a sequencer and this one is up there. Rene v2 seems to be winning. How do you compare the sig to marbles? Or even Rene v2?

Reminds me of a melodicer, but more intuitive and in less HP. Cool.

The reset function (longpress run and loop) doesn't seem to do anything here. When I hold run some of the faders are lighting up even if they are turned all the way down. Also the thing plays random notes from sliders that are all the way down. What am I missing?
@curtainsinmotion6 ай бұрын
Nevermind, I'm slowly figuring it out. Was starting to think my unit was flawed, but seems for the reset function I was holding both buttons instead of holding run and then pressing loop. Still not sure why the notes were triggering without the sliders being up, but I'm sure there is a good reason that I'll figure out after a while. What an amazing module btw! Great work!

A good tutorial that would have been made better if there was less plant and book in the frame and more SIG+.
@seanrooney8504 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for this great tutorial. IMO, though, it was a mistake to run the signal through a delay. It made it very difficult to hear rests, changes in rhythm, etc. There was no need for delay to demonstrate the functionality, really. Would've preferred that you leave it out. Otherwise, a fantastic tutorial.
