55 on a hill depends on the hill but realistically 40+ mph . i have a taotao powermax vip 150cc and the speedo is way off . it will do 55 top speed unless the hill is dangerous with heavy traffic the few seconds that a 30mph versus 55 mph is about a few seconds difference so it doesn't matter , if it takes an hour to get to the top of the hill then the difference is about ten more minutes

@Kevin Halton did you have a 50cc 4 stroke, or a 50cc 2 stroke. some of the 80's mopeds were 50cc 2 strokes and they would do 40mph in stock form. And if you did have a 50cc 4 stroke, if you go 40mph by using the speedo, they almost always read faster than you are going.

Underneath all that plastic is a Chinese Scooter. It is reliable if you maintain it regularly. A true quality scooter will cost at least 1000.00 more than this one. It's really a question of economics.

yes it will the flex one was the 150 i was going too get but my money came up short so i got the 150cc qumtum tour.its fast enough for me at least i can do the speed limit with little lag in trafic.its good for trips too the beach.

your parts could melt or blow gong 60 for long periods. i have one and i dont advise that. just saying it you want longevity in your scooter, its not a motorcycle.... other than that i like tao tao

What is your definition of "long periods"? What do you believe the max sustained cruising speed is for a 150cc scooter?

@@EuropaWill I know your comment is pretty old, But 50MPH is the best cruising speeds for a 150cc, Any higher you are nearly always red lining it and going into the danger zone in RPM's. You can however put in some higher weight rollers in the variator and get 65 easy without going into the red but you end up losing low end acceleration. Not ideal at all if your a city rider. But good if you take long stretches of open road or the highway.
