I bought a 2019 wr450 back in September did all the free mods plus a exhuast pipe. Now that its winter here for me gonna be adding the ecu map. Great trails bike. I love it.

great bike for sure! I will do the same, plus I also have a CCU which allows to use your phone to change the maps, I think its not that expensive, I will report back how good it works and how custom maps change the bike.

Nice video and footage. I've ridden those trails many times. Would love to ride a new wr450 but I'm pretty happy with my 2017 KTM 500excf!

I have the 2019 wr250f and love it! ECU mod, airbox, throttle stop and baffle taken out, great for trails here in the PNW, I weigh 230 and I never lack for power, did swap out the rear coil for a stiffer one.

I told ya 6months ago buddy, better late than never bro, good ride, be the only 450 Id buy, don’t over mod it, learn to use it, GYtR slip on silencer, but even with baffle out of stock prob not needed. just replace wear parts and ride, it’s a riders bike, no muss no fuss just go ride, Love the new intro buddy, 🤙

thanks Paul! no grey wire mod is not relevant for this bike, I will install gytr ecu soon, that would adjust the timing and the fueling too, I believe it will run similar to fx model

I bought a 2019 WR 450F in June, and I love it. The WR 450F matches my riding style very well, a little bit of MX track, and forrest trails. My plans is to start racing some hare scrambles with it next year. My bike is all stock, but I did do all the free mods to it. For me, I don't mind the stock ECU, but I might buy a GYTR ECU just incase Yamaha stops making them. To put all the GYTR ECU mods on this bike, it will cost you about $700. Lastly, the 2019 WR 450F will do 105 m.p.h on the road.

I got mine here in Aus in May. Fully derestricted, Full road reg. I've done the tail tidy and proper hand guards and I'm super happy with it. Forks were a little stiff and deflecting at first but have settled nicely. Power is great really snappy.

@@rse617 I don't know if it's still true today, but there was a time where it's been said that the WR 450F was Australia's best selling dirt bike. I do like my WR 450F, but it's $10K+ price tag is a rip-off. I could of bought an n.o.s Suzuki RMX 450-Z for half the price of my WR 450F.

@@danielc5205 I know for sure it's still the top seller in the enduro class. I got mine 3k off the retail because it was the bike the dealer tested before release. They took it to a flat track and put 13ks on the clock, gave it a wash and put it on the showroom floor reduced by 3k. The owner actually showed me video on his phone of him riding it. I usually wouldn't buy a brand new bike from a dealer but with the reduction in price It make me consider and an ultimately buy it. Those sort of deals don't show up every day. And it's nice to have my first ever current model anything.

Normally I never pay full M.S.R.P for anything, but the dealership wouldn't budge on their price, and it was the only new WR 450F within a 500 mile radius from my house. And, since mine is a U.S model, I didn't get the fancy GYTR programmable ECU, the dual map switch, or the CCU because of the eco-nazi's rules us Americans have to live under.

I test rode one and the power was fantastic. The only issue was the loud intake noise. It's loud and in your face!

@@dirtniron , ok, I Subbed after you replied to the other video regarding Arnold wanting the clothes, boots and motorcycle! But I am thinking of getting a WR450F and plating it in WI which won't be easy. I need a light dual sport; my short list is a Honda CRF450L, or KTM 500, or Beta RRS. Also may go with a small Twin like a T7 or Tuareg. Since Yamaha won't make a street-legal 450 I may do it on my own, just out of principal. I'll be on state highways to and from the trails (10 - 15 miles) and pretty sure a WR will cruise at 60-65 especially after balancing the wheels.

How is it for stalling out? That's one thing every offroad 4 stroke review is missing. Stall resistance and flame out comments. How does that compare to your older wr? Your xcw? Or other bikes

that is a very good question, I plan to do separate video about staling, do some testing with stock settings. It does stall more than my 300 2 stroke, but not too bad. Feels way more nimble than my old 2004 I had before, suspension is way better. Power soft from the bottom and wakes up in the mid, which is kinda nice on the trails. Transmission doesnt feel like its oddly spaced, gaps between the gears feel very good, unlike some other wide ratio I rode recently

This bike will flame out under a heavy loads with light throttle. This bike like to be ridden faster rather than slower. This bike would not work well for hard enduro.

depends what you want to ride, this bike is fully capable offroad bike, feels good even on the MX track, but Tenere probably prefers dirt roads and pavement.. its and ADV bike

surprisingly it felt pretty good on all those trails you saw in the video, we didnt do anything too crazy tho.. but of course my 300 2 stroke feels better on technical stuff. This wr450 proves to be really good versatile bike for all kinds of terrain

Yeah mate ,take my advice I got a 203 450 it's awesome and if I was cashed up I would be throwing my leg over a newie . My 203 wr is stock the only change I did was change the stock pipe for a Staintune pipe , and that's it !

The WR450's are awesome!! 250WR is an awesome bike as well, perfect if you are on woods, single and trails. Lots of people buy a 450 then switch to the WR250 because it's lighter and more maneuverable. Test both before you buy...you never know. Plus the 250 is much cheaper and chugs up steep hills like a mule. Good luck!!

Yamaha's are the coolest running bikes out there! I had a 16 250fx and installed a fan...didn't really notice too much of a difference, because surprisingly enough it came on infrequently...almost seemed like a waste of money until I took it out to the desert. Rest assured that these Yami mommies are cold blooded killerz!!! ;)

For me, it would be the WR450 for the following: - comes with a Bluetooth ECU programmer - really good weight distribution - exhaust is tightly compacted in the middle, preventing it from damage. - 20 lbs lighter - More horsepower - $200 cheaper at msrp The only thing holding it back is the gas tank. You can’t get a bigger 3 gallon like you can with the Honda. Overall, they are both great machines that look like fun. Which one did you end up buying?
