I came to the stock market 2021. I have started buying stocks monthly 2K to 5K. Now I am investing monthly 15K in equity market. I never sold my stocks. I am investing around 15 companies only. Last 1.5 year I did add any new companies in my portfolio. Currently my equity portfolio return is 50% as on today. Portfolio construction 80% large cap companies 15% mid cap companies 5% small cap

Well said Sir. Just 8 years ago I had fallen into the trap of trading due to my broker. Lost in a few months all the gains I had made over 7 years. Every night used to be tense on how my futures bets will play out. Absolutely not worth it. Thankfully I was able to stop my destructive behavior and took a resolution never to trade again and only invest long term. It has paid rich dividends and more importantly peace of mind.

As Shyam rightly said, ITC going down as parent co going to sell huge stake,, dum arey dum for those bought at higher levels, I bought at 230 and exited at 430,, hotel business, paper business all going to come down as revenge spending post covid comes to halt,, and layoffs kick off

Standing on the shoulder of Giants.. with collectively wisdom of teachers like yourself, I have avoided most of the pitfalls throughout my 6 years investment journey. Of course, made many mistakes, but those I consider as part of learning and trying to avoid making them the next time. Also long term if you were holding Motorola, Kodak or Bombay dyeing or reliance communication, would have become zero, in hindsight one can say holding Infosys for 30 years would have given so much return, but many good IT cos at that time closed down as well,, similar thing going to happen for mid caps soon,, today midcap crashed, somehow goodsamaritan bought later 😂
