Really interesring fun fact: while the Su-27 SM does not have a MAWS, the J-11A does have it. Current aircraft equipped with MAWS: F-111, Su-25 (late derivatives), J-11A, F-16AM, Mirage 2000C-S5, Mirage 2000D-R1, and the Mirage 2000-5F (i do not know if the Mirage 2000C-S4 has it)

Trepkas the reason r-73s is unflarable is cause they dont know that if u try flaring an r-73 with afterburner on doesnt work since the missile is attracted to the heat of the after burner but if u flare with afterburner off then u have a higher chance of surviving and the r73 not hitting

Ppl complain about the Su27SM but then the F-4F KWS just slips by undetected. It sits at 12.7 with no HMD, an obsolete airframe, mediocre IR missiles at best, can barely break Mach 1.1 with an air to air load out, and has zero chance against any other airframe in a dogfight. The only thing going for it is that it has a decent radar and 4 AIM-120’s. It’s literally a rebranded F-4F from 10.7. Edit: it also doesn’t get radar missiles until tier 4 either.

R-73 my guy, it’s a high off bore sight missile, it does some 360’s and loops to go after the target

IMO, it's not the worst top tier, but it is probably the 3rd worst 13.0 (Behind the J-11A cause even though it gets MAWS, it retains the shit SPO-15 RWR. And behind the Mig-29SMT cause it's a comparative brick with less missile armament despite a better radar). R-77 is an objectively worse Aim-120, only matching it in agility, which other missiles like MICA and R-Darter/Derby do better. Flanker has less countermeasures than F-15. It has a worse HMD range. It has no high-speed handling or agility edge. It really only has low-speed performance and R-73 over F-15C. F-16C and Gripen still win out in a dogfight if properly flown, Mirage 2000 does the same mid-close range specialty but better. Basically almost any strength it has, someone else also has, and likely with the same if not better kit.
