International Harvester, what a fantastic album, such a clean copy, WoW

Agree, it's fantastic. The seller had two copies of the same press, and the same price. So I could pick the best one. Cheers!

That looked like a great fair... I have a couple of records by Dave Pajos hardcore band Solution Unknown, pretty different from Slint Tortoise etc. I'm a punker so I actually prefer the hardcore records... Enjoyed your vid, that Twink record sounded great.

Great footage from the fair. Dom would highly approve of those pickups. Headed to the WFMU fair in NYC with him next month. Saw Beck twice on that Odelay tour. Oddly the craziest mosh pit I’ve ever seen was at the Charlotte show that Dirty Three opened. When Beck busted out the acoustic the place went nuts. It was Grady Cole Center so a basketball court. People got hurt bad. Multiple paramedics and people carried out on stretchers lol. I’ve been in hardcore punk pits that were tame in comparison. It made no sense. The next night Beck was in Raleigh. The Cardigans opened and did so playing three Black Sabbath covers. It was incredible.
@vinylstockholmАй бұрын
I would love to go to the WFMU fair some day. Great stories about Beck live gigs, the good old 90s, crazy times. I saw Beck here in Stockholm after the Mellow Gold album, no mosh pit that time 😂, but very cool to see him. Cardigans is also a classic 90s Swedish band, I saw them many times here. I thought it was so cool that they did the Sabbath covers with Nina's fragile voice. Cheers!

Hi from the UK..Looks like it was a great fair..loved that International Harvester, have never heard of them.before.. interesting sound. Love me some Beck..Odelay! is great although Mutations is my favourite. I listened to Think Pink a while back and didn't get it..I need to listen again and reappraise it. Great stuff, have just subbed. Rob.

Sold a white p/cover F/N double 12" recently at a local market in Brisbane Australia. A local experienced dealer said i wouldnt get anything for it. Turns out an expat kiwi spotted it and grabbed it for A$100 which i was pretty happy with. It was in nm- condition and i paid tuppence for it so i was stoked. By the way any ist press Britpop vinyl goes for serious money down here. Great video.

Great to see!! I was not there, but maybe next time. Cool idea to sell at the same time. I got a Tortoise 12” from recordmania last month and really liked it. Will try and find a LP as well! And I also got Odelay last month - what a coincidence!

Jonas, this was fantastic to see and love seeing the video of course. Nice pickup of TNT. At some point I'll trade in my later colored pressing for that one. One of their absolute best! International Harvester I sold since I had a later Finnish pressing (near the release) but need it back, preferably a copy like yours. I do have a 1st pressing of Hemat. I did not know Earth Free, will have to track and listen. Funny we share the same feelings about Odelay. I also recently picked up the original just last month and yeah, it held up but I still think there are some dated tracks. But still happy to have it. I believe the US Think Pink is the easiest to find, and weirdly it came out here first which never happens. So I see it all the time but still don't have the Sire copy, never in nice shape. Will replace my reissue at some point. And hey the Ragnarok was good, enjoyed that clip. Always happy to see a new video in the feed from you. Cheers!
@vinylstockholmАй бұрын
Hey Dom! Many thanks! I'm very glad I found International Harvester. The seller had two copies, same pressing and price, so I could pick it out the one in best condition. Hemåt is a great one too (have you found the marijuana plant hidden in the grass on the cover?). Yes, I knew you got Odelay too, I found it at the fair and went for it. I also think some of the stuff is a bit dated, but a nice addition to the collection. Now I only need Mutations... I think. I didn't know that Twink first came in the US, very cool. A bit strange that it even got a US release, as he's was a pretty obscure artist. Take care!

Great video, Jonas! The Stockholm Record Fair looked brilliant! I spotted loads of records I’d like in my collection… especially the Linda Hoyle solo album. I’m a massive fan of Odelay such a great album… I quite like hip hop and have always really liked Beck’s mix of analog instruments with hip hop beats. Neil Young must have had his lawyers at the ready when Earth Free put out that album. Sounded really cool 👌 Love that lo fi sound. Well done Jonas and enjoy!
@vinylstockholmАй бұрын
Thanks Jack! I didn't check, but that Linda Hoyle was probably not a cheap one, and I think it was unsold. Prices are often insane on those walls. Yeah, Earth Free is a new one to me so I have to discover it myself, but I really like Neil Young, and lofi, so what can go wrong? Have an awesome weekend!

I also don't have to have "country of origin" first press in my collection. If it's a UK artist, I am quite satisfied with a Euro, Oz or New Zealand etc first press as long as the condition is nice. I do however do a comparison audio test if I come across same title LP but alternative issues just to judge which is best!

Cool! I normally don't compare audio between pressing, but it's nice to do when you have the chance. Cheers!

Hello, wish I was there, maybe next time. 1971.....Int. Harvester was the first Lp I listened to at just opened culturhouse in Stockholm.This group once played at the roof at that house and also organized the Gärdet festivals that group played for free with names like "Sun goes Up" in the morning and changed names to "Sun goes Down" in the evening.....Fake memory?

Wow, cool to see them live back in the days. I guess they were called Träd Gräs Stenar by 1971..? Bo Anders Persson was a key figure in the progg movement for sure. It would be cool if you could go to the fair some day :) Trevlig helg!

ha, didn't the fair open on Friday afternoon for sellers, and pro buyers? ^^ What time were you there? I was there 10-15. I have quite a lot of Flying Nun, bought a lot of those at An Ideal of Living. Also only bought 5 records, very happy with those, too.

You're right, I forgot to mention that. We only have a few crates so it's easier to do everything in the morning, but we'll probably miss some Friday deals. Ideal for a Living is one of my regular stores I visit, I work 50 meters from the store, so I drop by there almost every day. And I also bought some Flying Nun there, Boda usually picks up FN stuff on his buying trips to the continent. Damn, I didn't see you, I was there from 7 to 16, would have been cool to say hello.

Actually, I didn't care for the opening music - didn't know the band but it sounded like copyright-free AI created stuff to me - sorry! I'm more into the 60's/70's garage/psych. Didn't know International Harvester or Earth Free either but both seem more up my alley! I also have that Beck on CD but, like you, I'm not into when he got into the rap crap. I'll have to re-listen to it sometime to hear if it's a keeper or a dumper... I have approx 45-50 thousand vinyl records (LPs & 45s) and CDs crammed into my small living quarters here in the U.S. Used to have the U.S. copy of Twink but, alas, I sold it but have the re-ish CD.

Holey moley, that is a big collection! I agree on most things except about Tortoise. Beck rapping is not my thing either. Thanks for tuning in!
I don't sample all the records I show, and I assume that Beck is more known than the others. I've also sampled a Beck track in my previous video (Intoxicating Gems). Cheers!
