Hey Jonas, Saint Steven, what a beautiful record, I prefer side 2. With the Dungen Same (what a beast), what a lousy number, different songs. Just imagine, I buy the new edition and it doesn't contain what I heard. I happened to know Ali Touré Farka from a YT video, very smooth. Kebnekajse "Resa Mot Okänt Mål" wow. Thanks for the introduction, there are some things there that I wouldn't have heard otherwise. Greetings Patrick

Hi Patrick! Yes, the Dungen reissue is strange. After I made this video, I actually met Reine Fiske, the guitarist, and asked why they changed the songs. He was very vague and didn't really answer, he said something about Gustav not being happy with the recordings. Thanks for tuning in!

Bo Hansson - Ur Trollkarlens Hatt 3. Bo Hansson - Mellanväsen 4. Fläsket Brinner - Same 5. Turid - Vittras Visor 6. Turid - Bilder 7. Kebnekajse - II 8. Kebnekajse - III 9. Another top drawer video Jonss👍 It's weird as this album certainly has an anglophile vibe about it at times, plus with Bohemian Vendetta supporting him it also has a trashy DIY vibe going on in parts...... and i DON'T mean that as a criticism, it makes this album quite unique in sound and indeed vibe. The artwork is also mesmerising,it😂 trully fits with the music!! I've bought this twice on cd with different bonus tracks on each cd released by Big Beat and then Sundazed. Thanks again Jonas, appreciated 👍
@vinylstockholm7 күн бұрын
Thanks again Stuart! Yes, his single is really great as well. I know what you mean, the "trashy DIY vibe" is something I really like. Cheers!
@stuartrobertson36587 күн бұрын
Thank you Jonas, another entertaining video. This IS an album of 2 halves for me, the David Axelrod arranged numbers are top drawer "late night"psych,in a similar vibe to the Food album It seems Axelrod had to abandon the recordings as his son had passed or a family emergency had happened, hence the rest of the album was unorchestrated and sounds rawer and garage like psychedelia,so it makes one wonder if Axelrod had plans to arrange orchestrated parts for the whole album? I'd have loved that as those Axelrod arranged numbers are just sublime,but it is a good album on the whole with a couple of "clunkers"that really should have been left of the album!! Thanks again Jonas, magical stuff 👍
@vinylstockholm7 күн бұрын
Agree, the songs with the string arrangements are the ones I love the most. I'm not sure if Axelrod was meant to arrange the whole album, but I think it could have been a really interesting LP. Thanks again!

Hello Jonas, i'm catching up with past videos from yourself on this wet, dark & cold Monday Night in Edinburgh Loved this Vashti Bunyan"special",i do have the cd compilation and of course the CD reissue of that beautiful but Fragile sounding album that you have in your hands I remember when i first heard of Vashti Bunyan, was in the music magazine Mojo, they did a piece on her and her "forgotten"album, leading to the reissue of it on cd, similar to what Mojo mag did for Bill Fay, another singer/songwriter who vanished for 30 years and restarted his musical career! So thank you for another delightful video Jonas,i agree with you concerning Joe Boyd,a very important figure in the British Underground of the late 60s, maybe a Joe Boyd "special'video could be made by yourself? Produced Pink Floyd, opened the UFO club, discovered and produced some marvellous artists ....... Cheers Jonas 👍
@vinylstockholm7 күн бұрын
I guess Edinburgh is like Stockholm these days. But Vashti's music is perfect for days like this, just put on Coldest Night of the Year. I love Bill Fay also, what a wonderful singer songwriter. I have actually been thinking about doing a video about Joe Boyd, I just love Fairport, Incredible String Band and of course Nick Drake etc. I have read his book, highly recommended if you haven't. Thanks for tuning in!

Indispensable video Jonas. Was so happy to see it come through this afternoon. I guess the only original Silence lp I have is Stenblomma which I quite like, though some of it is only ok. Beautiful label design on that one though. I personally love the Harvester stuff, even though it is rough and crude. And I think the archival box set of Parson Sound is amazing too, though of the same quality. What a great list though. A few I was completely unaware of, and some of the others in name only. I will be consulting this list and trying to check these off. Simply because I love their approach and style they were coming up with in the 1970s. "Trippy" is the big word that comes to mind and seems to unite them all. I do have Lord of the Rings, but the common US edition. I simply love that Swedish original cover. Pretty cool reissue you have there too of Handgjort. Also, what was the song you utilized for the title cards repeatedly throughout the video? But again, an essential watch this one. Great work! I suppose I have a lot of work to do to track these down. Probably need to visit your country to do it!
@vinylstockholm7 күн бұрын
Thanks Dom! I have been thinking about doing this video since this summer when we talked about Silence in the comments. I'm clearly not the fastest KZbinr, haha! But glad you liked it. I also love the Harvester stuff, I'm still looking for the first Träd Gräs Stenar. And Pärson Sound is pretty wild for being mostly from 1967. Stenblomma got 2 votes in my little poll so it just missed the top 10. I've had it before but sold it, I should listen to again as I don't remember it very well. Yes, trippy is a good word to describe much of it, at least the albums on this list. The song I used is "Frestelser I Stan" by Kebnekajse, from their first LP "Resa Mot Okänt Mål", (on the third spot on the list), a great instrumental rocker. And you know, I can always assist if you're looking for something special from over here, but you're more than welcome if you want to visit 😊
@seekingathread6 күн бұрын
@@vinylstockholm I am happy to see that the Kebnekajse is much cheaper than I thought. And what a cover too. I will have to pluck that one from Discogs very soon, after I stream the whole thing of course but I trust the Swedish heads when it comes to this list. Everything in the list will get a good look, if I haven't looked already.

Good evening from Edinburgh Jonas!! What a wonderful video concerning the Silence Label, luckily i have some of the albums you mention on cd as i'm not a Vinyl buyer, because honesty i couldnt afford it, so cds have been the medium i listen to music for over 30 years, but i enjoy seeing others showing their records, particularly the magical music you show on your channel from the late 60s/early 70s!
