He used tubbo as a puppet and now Tommy, who's an impulsive character and very egotistical seems to be at an all time low, and it seems dream has him wrapped around his finger. He's "letting" Tommy do certain things to bring this illusion and light of kindness in Tommy's eyes. And your animation is gorgeous!!!

*What’s kind of interesting to me is the patch on Dream’s face:* It shows “梦” which means Dream in simplified Chinese. So when you see at 0:28, the placement of the patch moves. It could mean that *Nightmare* , Dream’s alter ego is kinda like his manipulative side, also seeing that the kanji flipped) I don’t know Chinese, I know Japanese, and “梦” is similar to “夢” and although the term “悪夢” is nightmare *in japanese* it literally translates to bad dream, so yeah, kinda fun fact

(disclaimer: im not trying to be political nor am i trying to start a war in the comments section, im just stating facts as a student studying history) 梦 is simplified chinese- dream in japanese (夢) is the same w traditional chinese since the written forms have really similar roots (smol hist lesson that no one wanted- so basically in the 1920s to 30s there were a huge ton of illiterates in china so they "simplified" the words to make it easier for ppl to learn to read or write- however, since chinese characters are based off of shapes(they're really weird distorted representations of the actual thing, for example the word for "pregnant" 孕 is basically a baby(子）,which has a head two arms but idk why only one leg underneath what's supposed to be a girl i think）so some ppl say that it's killing off the culture when you simplify it it's a little hard to imagine, but "dream(夢)" in traditional chinese is basically brows(卝)above eyes(a lateral 目)above that cage thingy which are supposed to be hands(covering the eyes) and finally "evening" （夕) meanwhile the eyes dont even exist in simplified chinese(梦）, thus the "destroying culture" argument

hello yes hi I am here to clarify that Stockholm Syndrome is not necessarily romantic, nor does it even have to be with a kidnapper/captor, it can also be about an abuser/manipulator in a toxic relationship (eg: parents, partners, friends, etc) In general it describes a situation in which someone develops empathy for a person who has/is currently harming them in an awful way, they defend the abuser/attacker and as a victim act like it was deserved/blame themselves/blame circumstance for the harm done instead

Honestly, Dream will always have full control. Whether free, in prison, exiled, even dead. He has changed everyone on the SMP and traumatized so many of them so badly.. He still had control. Tommy is Dreams main "Pet" his main minions, his main pawn.. Because He was traumatized the most and his cannon character is probably still afraid of Dream, whether in prison or not.

I don’t think people really realize how traumatic this was to Tommy, how he stays away from plains biomes and finds it hard to even think about his time in exile. Dreams character is one of the most evil and manipulative characters I’ve ever seen, he goes after children like Tommy and tubbo, knowing that they’re the weakest. He takes advantage of people with issues like ranboo because of his memory problems. And once again he’s torturing Tommy in prison by killing him only to bring him back again, you know a villain is good when the others can’t catch a break. It’s this that makes the dream smp one of the best Netflix shows I’ve ever watched 😂 Edit: I also love the occasional appearances of ghostbur I think it’s cute 🥰

okay but can we talk about the shot at 1:03 the details are insane. i love the crack in dream's mask representing how he is losing his old self. the dream who wanted peace. and the glowing yellow eyes and mouth on his mask is such a spooky design!! it kind of feels like the spooky yellow glow is his true "chaotic" side finally coming out under the cracks of his mask, his mask symbolising his passive self. as well as his smile peaking through beneath the mask, it gives a kind of maniacal vibe. sort of joker-esque. and the way he teleports just before this shot to symbolise that his character is always 2 steps ahead. im so impressed and i absolutely love your style!!! this is seriously something to be proud of

okay but seriously, can we talk about how the way c!dream made c!tommy go back to the prison that second time? he (c!dream) deliberately made himself seem vulnerable and sorry, apologetic as well, in an attempt to make c!tommy (and us, we got manipulated smh /j) feel pity for him. it worked, sort of. tommy desperately wanted to prove to c!dream he despised him, that what he had done was unforgivable, which is why he went back the second time. c!dream knew, he had spent so much time with c!tommy during exile, watched him and picked up the way c!tommy would react to things and knew every single next move. fucking hell this character is smart. I’ve watched this on repeat so many times and every time 1:06 with the eye to the grabbing the chest to Dream’s head tilt gives me chills. Something about the movement in that part is so hauntingly creepy, it’s entrancing to watch. Edit: also 0:28 has the same vibe. Ive always had a soft spot for manipulation stories, especially if they are well done. This is very nice! You should feel proud of your animatic, it perfectly catches the nature of the Tommy and Dream situation, and I feel great that other people have noticed that what Tommy is going through is Stockholm syndrome. I've had a question in mind ever since he started manipulating Tommy, and now it's Ranboo, what was his goal, and why is he manipulating 3 of the youngest on the server, most would say they are really importantpeople and Dream can control others with them, but no one really knows the answer, I predict we have a month until whatever his plan is for is complete.

Dream said to Tommy that he does this "Because its fun" Some sick part of rpDreams brain finds satisfaction in making RpTommy obedient to him. Willing to give dream items that he finds value in without a second thought. Such his armor, tools and belongings. (But i bet his end goal was the discs. That would be the ultimate victory over Tommy. Truely breaking ur enemy.) RpDream seems fairly obsessive towards Tommy even with all of the stuff he does to everyone else. Minors minds are fairly maluable, which is probably why dream finds people like Tubbo, Ranboo and Tommy them fun to mess with.

I have a feeling it's actually Techno, rpTechno is the only one Dream can't get to, that's why Tommy was so safe with him. Edit: It'll be interesting to see how all this plays out.

What can I even say, man? This is... insane. Everything about it is incredible. I love how Tubbo was portrayed as a victim, I love how well you got across Dream's tactic: break Tommy, then take the remaining shards and build an obedient weapon, I love how smoothly the animatic goes with the music, I love the discomfort you get while watching, I love everything about this. I'd normally write a several-paragraph essay about how damn good this is, point out thousands of details I noticed, but I'm too lost for words, so just... take this as my appreciation.

Over a year later, I’ve drifted away from the dsmp. It took up to much of of life. I needed a break. I started watching around the war of L’Manburg. I drifted away once Tommy got revived after being k*led in the prison. I keep coming back to this animation though. The art, the music, the dialogue, everything is absolutely amazing! You included everything perfect and made it a work of art. The timing is amazing. The transitions are just right on point. Showing that Tubbo was turning into Jshlatt and Tommy was turning into Wilbur is just a great addition. Writing out the letter that Tommy sent to everyone is such a good idea. You showed their betrayal, the pain, and how Tommy eventually believed Dream was his friend. When you add the actual sounds from the streams and such, it made it just that much more related to everything. The art is amazing as well, and while you don’t really turn it into some sort of movie, just showing the drawings is so good because you put more detail into it. This is such an amazing video and I hope it gets more attention, even if it’s over a year later. Thank you for giving the world something so amazing!
