We were sitting in Stanley Idaho's Lake Stanley enjoying a beautiful day when they came to stock the lake. I know this video become popular, but I filmed this one the same day and I like it even more. Just saying. Check it out.

Of course, fish are key to the eco-system of a pond. It's amazing to watch. My grandmother had irrigation ponds dug on her farm, then stocked with fish. Within five years, those ponds and adjacent areas were just teeming with wildlife.

That would be a fun job , and you always would know where the fish were . I helped the DFG trout truck in the Santa Ynez river , I got to carry buckets of small trout and dump them in the river . It was a blast watching them darting all over . Good times .

The video doesn't show it, but did they check the water temps before cutting them loose? Trout are very susceptible to thermal shock. The state used to stock the river in my back yard when I lived in Michigan, and on occasion, they had to pump river water into the truck to get the fish acclimated to the slightly warmer river water.

Where I live, the closest lake is basically an irrigation dam for the local orange and avocado growers, it is stocked every year by Fish and Game with rainbow trout because the "lake bed " is unsuitable for trout spawning. This dam is 3 to 4 miles around and the trout only get to about 2 to 3 lb, but still fun.

It reminded me of a giant awesome water slide I went down at Wisconsin Dells called "BLACK HOLE". It was a closed tunnel slide that basically went 90 degrees straight down and under the ground before it blasted you out the end! There was a big "heart attack warning" sign at the entrance, lol.
