Meijer bacon is awesome! I’ve bought about 15 pkgs so far. All thick cut , not too salty and very meaty! Most brands of thick cut are 12 ounces, Meijer is 16 ounces.

Just to let you know. I’m in East Tennessee and I purchased gas Monday and was back out today and gas went up 10 cents per gallon since Monday. It’s getting crazy

$.99/ lb for tomatoes makes salsa affordable to make and also save some money on. Make it in a big batch and instead of canning it, freeze it; be sure to label your baggies or containers with "salsa" and the date frozen. Or, remove the stems and freeze your tomatoes to make salsa later; quarter them or so to conserve freezer space or freeze whole. If you have left over hot peppers, finely dice them into 1/ 16th or 1/8 th dices, spread out on a cookie sheet to freeze, then put in a baggie and return to the freezer. Salsa seems to come on sale more often now but it is still expensive yet useful for all sorts of Mexican type dishes. - There are even recioies out there calling for canned tomatoes and chilies. Use these recipies with a mix of canned and fresh ingredients too.

New 99 Cent Only Store News - Former executives from both Big Lots and 99 Cent Only Stores have devised a plan with investors to aquire/salvage 143 99 Cent Only Stores in Southern California. If the deal gets approved in Bankruptcy Court, they expect to close the stores for three months after the liquidation sales end and reboot 99 Cent Only Stores under new management/ ownership.

We went to Meijer on Saturday. It was packed with people. Didn't get much but the store was well stocked. I kind of sighed when I got the chicken thighs on sale for $1.49 knowing that it wasn't all that long ago they were .89

I also think that name brand manufacturers are realizing people are skipping thier products for store brands and also skipping the product altogether. Further there is suppose to be a contraction in the grocery world with less popular flavors and even whole brands disappearing from shelves. Folkscarecsellimgbthtough inventory, clamoring for market share, and making decisions about what to cut.
