Interesting to see your size and weight. I’m 6’5” 200 lbs. I found these skis at 175 and 180 to have the best edge grip on a carved turn I’ve ever felt. It was unreal. But too stiff and heavy for any other type of skiing for me. Especially moguls.

@@cragginshred cool. Crushing it at that length. Tried them in boot deep powder and sank. No rocker. Not mush float. Definitely a stiff tail if rocking back in Pow. Frontside dream as GS speed! Super quiet too!

@@toddweiler227 For sure a carving GS type ski! my Mantra can crush most other conditions although I need a true POW ski, ..suggestions for someone who has never really been a great powder skier?

@@cragginshred well…sorry for the delay, but the good news is I now have some actual powder day skiing experience to comment on. Powder skiing obviously is a whole new world unlike the groomers and bumps. My 84 wide Stockli’s love 6-10” of fluffy dry snow falling on the groomed runs. The 1-2 feet bottomless snow runs require wide skis and a choice of what and when you are going to use them. In summary I saw 115 is the most common ski coming out of the Vail Bowls and Alta. They have tip and tail rocker. The next choice is to decide how stiff for front side management to get to the powder. My preference would be to go to a light playful ski since my others are for groomers. I say playful because a stiff pow ski will buck you rinding through the crud. Unless you have thunder thighs that can manhandle any bumps on the hill. Lot of Black Crows, DPS, and Head Core riders out here in Colorado and Utah. It’s hard to invest in a ski you may only ride once or twice a season. I’d read all the reviews and see which one comes up all the time across the reviews that match your ability. Then rent them! You’ll find the magic boards in the end. Good hunting!! Better skiing!!
